Need to pick your brain...

Ok, girls, You always come through!!!

My new dilemma...guestbook!  FI and I are NOT traditional and neither is our wedding.  Therefore, the guestbook needs some additional flavor as well.  I don't want to do the origianl guest book, and I've heard of the wishing tree, but that doesn't seem us either.  I was thinking of having something framed and have guest sign it and I can hang it in the house.  But I'm not sure.  Another alternative would be to have several one-time use cameras on a table at the reception with a sign that explains that they should take a candid picture of themselves and then have little sheets of paper for them to sign their name and well wishes or thoughts.  All the guest are close friends and family, so I would recognize who is who, then I could make a scrapbook post wedding with the pictures and notes!?!  Too complicated?  Any other ideas?  I'm open to options!

HAPPY Wednesday!

P.S. Say a prayer and cross your fingers...I have an interview tomorrow...finally!

Good luck on the interview tomorrow!

I am doing a photobooth! It comes with a scrapbook and will print automatically so that the guests can stick their pics in the guestbook and write a little something under it. They also get a copy that they can take home as a souvenir of the AWESOME time they will have my our wedding! hehe!

I think your ideas sounds pretty good too...i like the whole signing and having up in the house. A friend of mine did that and it looks really cute...she used her engagement pics to do it.

    HTH!

We had an album designed with our engagement pictures, and just left a good amount of room around the pictures for people to sign. I think it came out really well!

I also like the photo booth idea! I went to a bridal show once where they had like a photo booth, btu they actually made flipbooks of the guests. Then guests got to take a copy home and they send you a copy of each of the ones that they made at the wedding as well.  it was pretty cool!

I had a traditional guestbook at our ceremony and a framed epic at the reception - the framed one is my favorite and is on a shelf in our house:

(guest frame is to the left of the picture in the center)

I like the idea of the engagement picture with room to sign.  That is what I am hoping to do if we ever get our engagement session scheduled.

    Good luck on your interview!

I went to wedding where the guest book was a huge coffee table book about Costa Rica which is where the couple went on their honeymoon.  I thought that was creative and cool.

We didn't have a guest book.

I saw this really cute idea here on the knot site a while back and i think we may use it. remember mad libs from when you were a kid?? its a variation of that. and you can have them at each guest's seat or arranged in their own "guest book" area i suppose...then you collect them all and arrange them in a scrapbook or you can do standard photo sizes and just stick them into a photo album or something! anyways, they're silly and super cute!! heres the link...

Another thing I've seen, and this was for an extremely artistic couple, was to print out blank frames on cardstock with a By line and message box. They provided art markers and requested that each of their guests draw them however they saw fit :) I saw some awesome sketches and some really cute stick figures and even just simple "We <3 You!" in the frames. The couple kept them and put them either in an album or a scrapbook, I'm not sure.

I so would of done the photo booth if we had more $$$. Instead I pinched pennies and am doing a record album. I replaced the ticker in the middle with our First Dance Song.

I made a photobook at Shutterfly using our engagement pictures.  One side of the page has pictures and the other side is blank, to leave room for people to write.  I'm hoping people will sign it yearbook style and write more than just their names.  It turned out really nice and because it has all the engagement pictures, I think we'll look at it more frequently than we would if it were just a guest book.

One of my girlfriends did the album and she just put a picture on the left page, blank page in the right and people signed.. I LOVED IT.  I will absolutely be stealing her adorable idea!!!  =D

erica that record guestbook is too cute!

i was also looking at this: www.guestbookstore.com

each guest or couple gets their own page and they fill in little questions like - how do you know the bride & groom and special wishes, etc... if you have the disposable cameras, you can put their picture on it afterwards or they can draw their picture on it too! I was actually thinking of making my own pages (to personalize it) instead of ordering it from them though... but it gave me some ideas!

I found another cute idea I wanted to share just in case someone is reading this for ideas too!!!

This couple bought a small-ish chalk board and had it sitting on a table with chalk and a camera at the receptiont.  Guest would write a message then take a picture of themselves holding it.  I thought this was a really neat idea!  It could totally be put into an album, scrapbooked, or on a digital photo frame!

    Thanks for all the feedback!!!
