  If you don't mind downtown Portsmouth, Radici's has really good Italian fare and drinks, and they do private functions - www.radicirestaurant.com

  We had our son's at The Library on State St.  Great to work with and the food was wonderful.

  we are having our rehearsal dinner at the Porstmouth Brewery. it's actually rehearsal lunch though.
  there's also Flatbread Co- they have good food and a seperate room for large parties.

  The Redhook Brewery also has function areas, plus they can do a private tasting if you like.

  Apparently we have hit graduation weekend at UNH  so I am not having much luck with anything.  Ug!   Thanks for the suggestions - it's been very helpful.
