Is anyone else having this problem?

So my dad was asking me how far the different hotels were from my venue this morning and I didn't know. I just started mapping it on google and noticed that google is not mapping it to the right place. Have any of you noticed that same problem? I am thinking I will put a map or driving directions from the different hotels in the welcome bags so people don't get lost.

Re: Is anyone else having this problem?

  • We have a similar issue with getting to our reception venue.  It's on a newer road so Google Maps hasn't been updated since the road was completed.  While their directions will still get people to the right place, it's definitely not the fastest or easiest route.  We included directions in our invitation inserts and plan on having another copy in the hotel rooms.  Until then I've been stalking Google to see if they've updated their maps.  :)

  • I was going to play around with WeddingMapper.com and see if that will work for us to print a custom map with our locations.

I have not heard of this. I will have to check it out.
  • We have the problem that even typing in the correct address to the venue, all GPS and Google Maps send people to the wrong place. Directions on our website and a map in the invite will be a MUST for us.

With a note stating, please do not just type in the address to your GPS!!

  • I had a similar situation as my locations are not traditional wedding venues. I had to get the GPS coordinates to get the correct directions to everyone.
  • ok scratch that.   I am going to use Google Maps.  If you choose my maps. and create a custom map, you can add points on the map and put in your own title & description.  I found it easier than Wedding Mapper.  Then you can print or post a link on your website.  It was pretty easy.
