affordable venues for ceremony and reception

My fiance and I are planning for a fall rustic wedding in Oct. 2013 in Austin. We will be paying for the wedding ourselves and are on a tight budget- $8000. We plan on having about 100-125 guests. Any advice on venues for a ceremony and reception?

Our very max budget is also $8,000 and we're planning 100-120 guests. Our wedding won't be rustic, but I think if you're willing to consider some of the venues in the Hill Country/surrounding areas, you can certainly accomplish this on that. We have went through nearly every venue in the Central Austin area and have wound up with only a few that will come close to meeting our budget constraints: AT&T Conference Center, Omni Hotel, Max's Wine Dive, and Galaxy Dance Studios. We're planning on doing both the ceremony and reception at the same place.

    Good luck!
  • Depending on your part of town; look at some of the community centers in neighborhoods.  We opted for the Brushy Creek Community Center.  Very affordable and suits our needs.  Our wedding is costing us about 8k as well.
  • My budget is also $8000.  Texas Old Town is perfect for a rustic wedding! It is in Kyle.  I am not sure how much it costs in October, but they have different venues.  Some costs less than others.  We are paying 2400 for August.  I think it may be a little more for October, but you should check it out!

  • We are on a tight budget, as well, and could not find anywhere in Austin that would allow us to have amplified music (a DJ) and was inexpensive enough for us to afford a photo booth for that added extra fun for our guests; therefore, we checked out Lakeside Pavilion in Marble Falls (about 45 min outside of Austin), and they have a HUGE facility that is gorgeous, full catering kitchen, restrooms, fireplace, stage, windows overlooking the lake, AND a patio large enough for our 175 guests to sit out overlooking the lake for our ceremony.  They also include chairs/tables, PA system, projector, microphone, and more.  We are so excited!  Also, there is a rental company in Marble Falls that has much more affordable rentals (we looked into a tent in case of inclement weather for the ceremony) than any place we found in Austin.  The catering options in Marble Falls are also less expensive--and Custom!  Good luck and Congratulations!!

  • We used the Caswell House and came in under your budget.

If you go to the bridal shows you can book some of your vendors using the Bridal Bucks.  It is doable.
  • The Chapel Dulcinea is beautiful, and is next to free! They have areas for your ceremony and reception.

  • The cheapest wedding venue and reception place I found was Heritage Oaks Clubhouse in Georgetown.
