Outdoor Weddings

Weather.com monthlong forecast = WebMD

So my co-worker and I have been laughing at my comparison today and I thought I would share the joke with you other outdoor brides.

So I'm one of those people that goes on WebMD and suddenly I think I need a cat scan, and I'll never be able to have children, blah, blah blah.

So now that we are close enough to my wedding date I've been checking the monthlong weather forecast and wouldn't you know, right when I am calming down about the wedding to do list I make this mistake. Now I'll be checking the forecast every day since today it said that out of the whole month of August, we will have thunderstorms on my 200+ ppl tent reception day. Big mental mistake on my part! End vent. :)

Even my 10 day forecast wasn't remotely close until 5-6 days out.
I was planning for a rain plan and there ended up being not a drop. Silly me.
Some killer clouds, though (see sig).
  • I would try to stop checking it until the week of. Even two days before, our forecast wasn't very accurate. Even the morning of, it said thundershowers during the afternoon. We had some rain in the morning, which cleared by noon, then it was hot and sunny for the rest of the day. Weather is unpredictable. I know it's hard especially with an outdoor wedding, but I would really try to not stress over it. Or at least have a rain back-up plan in place and then try not to stress.

Plus some of the best photos are taken when it's cloudy out :)

  • Our weather is so unpredictable here that I just vowed to not look. When people would talk about the weather, I changed the subject. Denial? Yes!
