Raspberry Ketone

So a friend of mine told me to check out Raspberry Ketone capsules to help boast your metabolism on a natural level. Apparently Dr.Oz recommends the tables in additional to diet and exercise. Has anyone taken these, and what was your findings?

Re: Raspberry Ketone

  • i find that most of that stuff is bunk and that Dr. Oz, while well intentioned is a bit of a fad-whore.  Last year wasn't acai the cure for everything according to him?

Simply eating nutritious and clean foods and throwing in a bit of exercise can have the same effect.  Save your money.
  • My findings is that if you want to eat somethign equivalent to 10 pounds of raspberries.. eat tend pounds of raspberries and see how your body feels.
    Not so great?
Yeah, probably because we weren't MEANT to stuff our faces with that much of ANYTHING.
Anything in excess like that bears down on our kidneys and liver that have to process all that stuff. Not good.

Dr. Oz is a salesperson for whomever funds his show.
    That's just how it goes.
It's a supplement, just like any others that aren't "natural" for your bod. You can't just add this to  a crappy diet and magically lose fat... Just fix your diet.. That'll be soo much better for you in the long run.

    I DO take
-a multivitamin *sometimes* (lately I have been awesome about getting all my nutrients so I haven't needed it.)
-Glucosamine for my knee (it's a mineral that kinda "lubes" up your joints.. I have a bad knee and this stuff is a miracle worker.. but again, I only take it when my knee is bugging me, not all the time)
-Fish oil. (I try to take this every day. It's just a good oil for the bod that you don't really get elsewhere unless you eat a ton of fish.. It's a natural anti-inflammatory so it's great for sore muscles post workout, and happens to be good for the hair/nails)
  • Dr. Oz is a fucking nutter.

Firsttimer, I thought glucosamine was one of those things you needed to take continuously because it takes awhile for it to start working.

  • YES!!!! A friend of mine recommeneded it to me about amonth ago and when I googled it I saw the Dr oz Clip!! While i surely wouldn't take anything based on a recomendation from dr. oz, it does give a little bit of confidence to see it there. I've been taking it about everyday(sometimes i forget!) and some days I take 2 pills. i love it! It does give you a sort of strong raspberry after taste for maybe 10-20 mins but thats all ive expereinced, i do feel alot better and feel more charged to take on the day!! Of course this pill hasn't made me lose 40 pounds but i do see a benefit to taking it, and think it is a good jump start for exercise and healthy eating!!!
  • Does it give you confidence to see a celebrity endorsing a product on late night TV?  Or in a magazine?

Because that's all Dr. Oz does.

  • J- You do have to. I suppose it sounded like I pop a pill ever few days...
When I take it I'm consistent for a month or so..I usually notice a difference after a week. But I haven't used the stuff in quite a FEW months now that I have gotten more muscle on my knee. I tend to go back to it after we go on vaca or something where I lose some of the muscle around my knee from not hitting the gym.. If that makes sense.
  • Gotcha!  That makes way more sense.

<div>bahahaha.. I seriously laughed when I read this :) That's adorable.. I'm the opposite, but I think it's because I'm a military spouse and feel like I don't want to be that cliche spouse that has EVERYTHING America-style decorated </div>
