Help finding a venue!!!

Unfortunately I"m a bride with champagne tastes on a beer budget.  I'm hoping to have the wedding of my dreams, but not trying to break the bank to do so.  I'm looking to spend no more than about $15K on a wedding.  I've looked at some places, but it seems that all of the venues stated you have to use THEIR caterer.  This is really frustrating, because I feel like if I can find the right venue and use a caterer of my choice I can come in well under budget.  My dream wedding would be at Piazza in Colleyville, but it's entirely to high...15K for food and drink alone on a Saturday nite, 10k for a Fri/Sun.  That doesn't even include the other stuff.  Does any know of any good venues that will let you bring in your own caterer?  That is on the level of Piazza or that at least isn't that expensive?

The Colleyville Community Center is beautiful and reasonable and I think they let you bring in your own caterer.

Thanks....I guess I forgot to mention in my post, that the other thing about Piazza was that I thought it may be a little too far out for my guests.  If possible I would like to get something in Dallas, Plano, Richardson, Addison Area.  But it doesn't necessailry have to be in those cities.

Check out Event 1013 in Plano. They have a little bit different feel than the Piazza but they do allow you to bring your own caterer and the rental rates are fairly reasonable.

Addison Event Center maybe?  Reflections at Spring Creek in Plano (I think you have to use their caterer but they are also more reasonable).

You can check our venue sticky also at the top of this forum.  Plenty of girls have done weddings for $15K so don't worry.

I second AEC. They have great catering and reasonable rates.

I used AEC for my wedding in June and with 130 guests stayed under the budget that you quoted. They have all of their pricing on their website:

    www.addisoneventcenterinc.com

They are definitely worth a look! The owners Henry and Suzan were a pleasure to work with, and they have in-house catering...we had nothing but great feedback after the wedding.

Thanks, I think I'm going to set up an appointment to check out the Addison Event Center.  It looks like it may be a really nice place, although I wish that they had a few more pictures of actual events.  I'm actually looking at around 150 people so that should fit within my budget. Plus I'm really trying to have a one stop venue, I don't really want people to have to drive all over, if possible.

There's a new place being built in Las Colinas that we're looking at, it's called Noah's - they already have a few locations in Arizona/Colorado/Utah, and have some pretty decent reviews.  They're a blank slate, so you can bring in anything you want (decorations, caterers, etc.), but they have tables/chairs/linens that you can use, and I think they're included in the cost.  Last update I got said they're supposed to open in February, which would still mean plenty of time for you to get vendors booked.  You can email them for a pricing plan...they're very reasonable!

Also, I second Reflections on Spring Creek, and old coworker got married there and she LOVED it, plus they're very reasonable.  I've heard they have a GREAT in-house caterer too.

I'm in almost the exact same boat as you smcguire, but I'm looking in the Tarrant County area!

NOAH's looks like it's going to be beautiful, but it's over $5k to rent on a Saturday which I think is a little steep for a $15k total budget.  I could be wrong though, I'm just afraid of spending over 1/3 of my budget only on a rental fee.  If others think that I'm wrong I may check into it again because I liked the concept pictures!

For the big ballroom. It's about 1/2 that for a Saturday night in the smaller ballroom which I'm using. That's always an option (unless it's booked that night of course!)

You can try 809 at Vickery or Fort Worth community art center.

I just booked Fort Worth community art center front gallery (April 28th next year), and they only charge around 750 for 7 hours. They provide tables and chairs and other rental stuff at a reasonable price too. If you don't have 100+ guests, you can check out the back gallery, it's less than 500 rental fee.

809 at Vickery is not that expensive either, and they allow outside cater and alcohol. The quote we get is Sunday 8 hour rental with 80 guests will cost $1250, including tables/chairs and sound system. Additional $500 needs for ceremoney (in their courtyard).

Good luck on your venue hunting :-D

I am not living in Dallas now but grew up there. I've been doing some research and I fell in love with  Piazza until I found the Bella Donna Chapel in McKinney http://belladonnachapel.com/ They only offer the ceremony but you can have your reception at a nearby hotel.

Weekday ceremony is $1,200 for 3hr rental and weekend is $2,500.

    Hope this helps

Agree!! I loved it! Only reason I did not use it is because I fell in love with a chapel 30 min away, and our guest list was too big to do a flip there.

We are having our wedding at Reflections on Spring Creek, so I will also recommend them.  For a Friday night, our expenses will be about $7000, which includes everything you can think of except the DJ, fresh flowers, photographer, and cake.  We will be having 100-115 guests. It was one of the best prices we found for an all-inclusive venue.  And I agree with PP that with a $15,000, you should have no problem staying within your budget.  GL!

I have looked at several places and my fiance is the one with the high dollar taste.. I have fallen in love with Occations at Stone River. http://occasionsatstoneriver.com/
It is farther away than some people like being in Royce City, it's about 45 minutes from dallas (east) BUT my thing is it's One day and it's your day that you're paying for so why not have it where you want even if it is a little off the beaten path. :)
