When we went out for supper on our 1 year anniversary... had been a very stressful day with my grandfather being buried in the morning... we got back to the house and there was a dozen red roses waiting for me which shocked me cause he isn't a flower type of guy (he had his mom go get them while we were out come over and set them up on the dining room table for me)... we got changed and went to the reasturant for supper...and right before dessert he was acting all weird and cute ... then he got down on one knee in the middle of the reasturant and asked me to marry him....

turned out to be a great day all in all!!! he said in his cute french accent would you like to marry me... I said NO...he was like OMGOSH... about to freak out... I said I would LOVE to marry you :D lol (I can be so mean..)
    best date to me ever!

close 2nd would beWhen he surprised me and took me to the Josh Groban Concert... (my first concert as well)... and we got free upgrade in our seats was pretty amazing...
  • Our first date was pretty good. We had never met before in person (we met online) and had been talking for a few weeks. We met at Olive Garden and he had before shared he could juggle. I told him to prove it with the breadsticks. We went out to the parking lot and he juggled breadsticks. I was impressed.

I knew he was a great guy because he could let loose and have fun and not worry about people watching him juggle in the parking lot. We just ended up walking around the nearby shopping complex and talking for a few hours after dinner.

  • Our best "date" was the day after he proposed to me. We were still on vacation, and we packed a picnic lunch and headed to the beach. We hiked around the rocks, took pictures of the view from the top of the cliffs, sunbathed, and just had an amazing day. The best part was knowing now for sure that we would be together forever. I definitely remember staring at my ring a zillion times that day.

  • This is a tricky one! I'll go with first as well, just because I'm sure there are so, so many I'm forgetting (we've been together for six and a half years)-- we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and then out for sushi, and then we walked around while he pretended he was lost so we could hang out more.

  • I think our best date was the first time he had me to his place for dinner and a movie. He made really good fajitas and we watched hot tub time machine. It was also the night of our first kiss.

  • I would have to say it's a tie between our first date and the night that he proposed.  On our first date he took me to this italian bistro downtown that has the most amazing ravioli I've ever had and then we went salsa dancing and out for ice cream.  We didn't want the night to end, but at midnight we had to get home because it was a work night.  The night that we got engaged, he took me back to the same restaurant and proposed during dinner.  It was kind of like reliving our first date all over again.

  • I can't really think of a date date that was best. We don't do dates a lot. Most of the time our dates are nights in spending time just us. Our first anniversary was another night in and it really stands out to me. He came over to my Dads where I was living at the time and I was making him homemade lasagna. Something I had never attempted! He put on some CD's and came in the kitchen and we just danced there in the kitchen to Keith Whitley's vesrion of You say it best when you say nothing at all. I really think I knew I wanted to marry him without a single doubt then. I really don't remember much about the rest of the night..just that we danced. We're also dancing to that for our 1st dance.

  • Hmm....I don't know if it counts as a date but on our 2nd valentine's day together he surprised me with a hotel room jacuzzi suite and dinner in our room. It was sweet and romantic and not something your typical 18 year old guy would put together.

Wow this one is tough. We've had a lot of adventures together. My favorite was when we were in Hawaii. We went off-roading by ourselves (in a Mustang...not very off roady) and we actually stumbled upon a local beach that not very many people knew about. We had a stretch of the beach all to ourselves! We went snorkeling and saw some turtles. We packed an expensive lunch (because everything is expensive there) kraft cheese singles, lunch meat, locally baked hawaiian bread, and purple yam chips. It was such a fun day!

  • When we went on our first vacation together, we flew down to Florida the day before the cruise left and weren't meeting up with our friends until we got on the ship, so we had the evening to ourselves. We went out to a completely random Cuban restaurant on the recommendation of the guy at the hotel's front desk, even though neither of us had ever had Cuban food before. I'm more adventurous with food than he is so I spent like 20 minutes trying to coax him into trying the plantains...and once he did, he decided he hated them. Oh well, more for me! LOL. The food was great, and we got to spend a good amount of time just relaxing and talking. Then we had quite an interesting time getting back due to some crazy people on the hotel shuttle. Some of my alltime favorite memories of FI and I together are from that trip. :

  • My favorite date night was when we went to see The Dark Knight. After the movie, we went back to his parents' house and sat up talking and surfing TV til very late. It was about that time when I was deciding whether to stay or drive the 40 minutes back to my apartment, when we realized there was A BAT in the room above the TV on a picture frame. FI grabbed his lacrosse stick and work gloves, and I got a large tupperware, and we tried to trap the bat to release it outside. FI scared it and it started flying around the room and dove at my head, so he smacked it with its stick and accidentally injured it to protect me. We let it go outside. We still laugh about that night... hopefully we won't have another bat encounter when we go see The Dark Knight Rises on Friday!
  • I don't know that I have a "favorite" or "best" date, but I certainly have a most memorable one!

Backstory - I am shamelessly obsessed with Harry Potter. I can't even say its my guilty pleasure because I am not guily about it lol!  Anyway, I never miss a midnight showing, but was kind of worried about the last one because we had vacation scheduled in Colorado.  FI got his brother to get us tickets to the midnight showing though, so I was worry free.

We went to dinner for sushi before (should have realized something was up bc that would be a concession to my dining preference lol) and then we started our wait in line. Fortunately they opened the theater up early, so it wasn't too long of a wait standing in line.

After the movie was over I immediately popped up to go to the bathroom (I have the bladder the size of a peanut) and FI was like "Don't you want to watch the credits?" "Ugh, yeah ok fine."  So when they were over, FI got down on one knee in front of people and said "I know one important chapter of your life is coming to a close, but I want to start another one with you. Will you marry me and spend the rest of your life with me?"

I am a grown woman.  A real career and responsibilities.  I know how silly this might sound to some people, but it was just perfect for me!  My "best" date/proposal couldn't have been better!

  • Would it be cheesy to say that there isn't a "best date" with my FI?  Anytime we get out together alone for the day or evening, we have a great time.

I do remember the Christmas Eve after we started dating, he rushed home from work and met me at my parents house.  He really really wanted to give me my present.  He gave me a necklace, not one I would have necessarily picked out, but very nice none-the-less.  He was very proud of himself and I wore it all evening and showed all my family.  He just looked so pleased with himself that I couldn't help but smile.  He ended up buying me matching earrings for our first Valentine's Day.  I don't have it in my heart to tell him it really isn't my style and I do wear it (just not all the time).
