What can I ask her to help with????

My step sister is going to school for baking and loves anything to do with baking. We were going to ask her to do our wedding cake but then she got really busy with school and work and didnt want to stress her out. Plus we needed a fairly large cake and she had never done one that large, so we ended up going to a pro.
Then we decided we were going to make our favors, ( little chocolate butterflies) and FI wanted to be apart of that project so she was shut down there.

Now I just found out the FMIL told her no when she asked if she could make my bridal shower cake. WTF, I feel so bad and I want to include her somehow even though she cant come to the wedding. (shes backpacking threw europe and leaves august 2nd, wedding is august 6th)

Any ideas on what I can ask her to do to make her feel involved??

To be honest, I have no clue. FI told me about it, and it really pissed me off. =(

  • How about a groom's cake?
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • Yes, I can understand why you'd be upset; it would have been a great way to involve her.  I don't know if you guys are doing a Groom's cake?  If so, she could possibly make that and it would allow her to be part of the wedding.
  • Trix1223 -great minds think alike ;)
  • Cookies for a cookie buffet?  Edible favors for bridal shower?  Cake for rehearsal dinner?  Cake for bachelor/ette party?

  • Whats the groom's cake for? Is that for the reception too or do you have that at another time? I've never seen one at a wedding before. Fill me in! =)
  • Grooms cake can either be at the RD or the reception.  In our area it sounds like it's more popular at the RD.
  •  A groom's cake is a cake specifically designed for the groom's personality/interests.  They can be used at the RD, but I've also seen them a receptions, along with the wedding cake.

They are often a different flavor of cake as well.  It would a perfect way for your step-sister to design and create a one-of-a-kind cake for your FI.

    Google groom's cake.
