Ceremony/Reception Site in Birmingham

Hi Everyone!

Our wedding is June 18th, 2011, but I want to go ahead and pick a venue so we have a place we love on that date.  My fiance and I aren't religious, so I was wondering if anyone knows a good place to have the ceremony and/or reception in the Birmingham area.

Thanks!!

Hey! I could probably recommend a few places. I'm working with a smaller budget than most, and like you, we're not as religious as some people, so I did a lot of research before we finally settled on our venue. It really just depends on whether or not you want an outside or inside venue, and whether you're working with a small budget or a larger budget. Let me know and I'll throw some suggestions your way.

Well, I'm open to both outside and inside venues, but I am a little concerned about the weather with an outside venue.  My parents are taking care of the wedding and while we don't have a set budget, I'd rather find something on the less expensive side.  I've looked at several places, but it looks like our wedding will be on the large side with about 300+ people invited.  Thanks so much for your help!

We're having our ceremony and reception at The Harbert Center but our guest list will prob be about 150.

Check out these places: Rosewood Hall, Carraway-Davie House, Mathews Manor

I have been to a wedding/reception at the Wynfrey hotel before. It was so nice that I'm having my own reception there and its pretty affordable for everything that is included.

Thanks for the help everyone! We are definitely making progress on narrowing down venues. Still have a little bit to go before we finalize though!

I would recommend checking out The Sonnet House in Leeds too. I can't remember what their capacity is, but they allow outside vendors for everything (which personally I think is fabulous!)

Check out American Village in Montevallo.  They have a chapel which seats 300, outdoor space, a ballroom for the reception and a barn for a reception.  You probably woudn't be able to use th barn becaue you guest list is too large.  I am getting married in October in the chapel and having the reception in the ballroom.  The chapel is designed after a really old church in Virgina and the pulpit is flown in from England.  The ballroom is designed after the ballroom in the White House and it is to die for.  I only saw one other venue before I booked this place.  Also, the website does not even come close to doing this place justice.  You should really check it out.  Good luck!

I would suggest the Workplay Soundstage!!  We just had our reception there (you can also have the ceremony there) and everything was amazing!! Lorraine is the event planner there and I absolutely loved working with her!!
