The Grove Redfield Estate vs The WIlder Mansion

Hi!  So I've narrowed my selection down to these 2 venues.  I love them both!  Would anyone recommend or not recommend one or the other?  The Grove has this amazing new pavillion that could easily/comfortably accomidate a sit down dinner and dance floor for all of our guests and is very open to us using outside caterers/bringing our own liquor (huge factor for our budget!).  But I do love the mansion, especially the ceremony site and how organized it is.  Thanks in advance!

I went to a wedding at the Wilder Mansion last summer.
I thought the layout at the mansion is a little odd...the bride and groom with their BP sat by the french doors leading outside, and all the guest tables were in the siderooms.  I think I saw the bride and groom twice during the entire event.
I felt very tightly squeezed in throughout the entire area.
Plus, there's no bathroom-we had to walk across a muddy park to get to a bathroom.
The day we were there for the wedding, the power was out due to a storm so there was no electricity.  Luckily it was a lunchtime wedding so the lighting from outside was sufficient, but it was so, so hot.

These are just my observations from a guest standpoint!  Good luck with your decision!

    Hi Scarlet-

I'm a bit confused, we saw the mansion last month and were shown 4 bathrooms inside the mansion.  Do you think it would have been a different experience if it were a smaller wedding?  We were shown a set up for our size group (less than 100) and we would all easily fit into one room for dinner, using the other for dancing.  This could probably be because we're not having a WP table.

Well they only rented the first floor, I do remember that now that I think about it.  The upstairs was blocked off.
The wedding we went to was maybe around 100 people or so, and we were in the very back of the mansion by the stairs on the first floor, the two rooms to the side of that.
Maybe they wouldn't allow people to use the bathrooms because there was no electricity that day...not sure.  I just remember everyone saying we had to walk to the park across the field.

I've never been to the Grove Redfield Estate, but I've worked with Megan at Wilder Mansion and they're really a great venue! The layout is a little different, but if different is what you're going for, then it's your spot. Definitely a tough decision.
