So - who here is rocking a veil for their wedding day - and who is rocking somethin' else - or just going bare? ) I'm either doing a flower or nothing.
well my plan was to do a bircage with fabric flowers but i feel like i dont want the veil in front of my face the whole time. But we're getting married out in a field (site of our future home) so i am afraid a full veil will be a huge pain... but i've always pictured myself with a veil so you posted this at the exact point when i was wondering the same thing.... if i cant decide it'll just be fabric flower
I'm doing a veil but I am also not going to have it over my face. I also made a fabric flower haripiece that I will wear with it. I haven't decided yet whether I will lose the veil or keep it for my reception.

Really I am decided but my budget thinks otherwise. The veil I want is $400, which is half the price of my dress! But its so pretty and I want it so bad. The store is willing to sell the sample for about $300, but thats still a lot, and we are looking at other stores and online, we might even try to make it. But I don't know if I will get it or not. I hope I do. Either way I will have something spakly in my hair, either a comb (if I have the veil) or possibly a tiara if I don't. I actually found a store the other week that had inexpenive combs and tiaras. I'll look there again once the veil issue is figured out. Posted by dramaqueen91087[/QUOTE]
Can you write down the model and brand, and then look on eBay and craigslist? You could try that. I ordered my veil with the dress and then found it on eBay for half of the price, it was too late to cancel the order though and I missed the deal.
I'd also like to wear a flower, but I think the combination would be too much.
Dramaqueen, on Etsy there are lots of people who make custom veils, for much cheaper than 300$. Maybe you can find someone there who can work with you?

rsvp's due back June 20th!
I am wearing a veil for the ceremony and either a flower or some hair clip or something not sure. Also not sure if I will keep the veil on for the reception or not very undecided about this!
Well, I was very sure in the beginning that I didn't want a veil, and I even tried on a few in the first two shops I went to and hated them.
Then I found my dress and tried on a completely different style of veil that actually has embroidery that coordinates with the embroidery on my dress! I ended up going from now veil to two! A cathedral length with an elbow length over it (neither will cover my face) for the ceremony, and for my reception, I will just wear the elbow length.
But yeah, I ended up spending more on my veils than on my dress. I wouldn't have had space for them in my budget if I hadn't bought my dress half price. (And the veils still put me $200 over budget. Blah!)
I am wearing a rhinestone headband and veil. I also did not want the veil to go over my face but it meant so much to my fiance that I am doing it. The blusher par is detachable for the reception though
I'm wearing a veil and taking off after pictures. I'll have the comb in my hair for the remainder..however, I'm not wearing it how it is in the picture. Still haven't decided it yet.
I loooove veils... I found a beautiful veil at the bridal store that went down past my bum, and has small pearl coloured beads sewn along the bottom. My FMIL has offered to make one for me based on it, so I will get it for a tiny fraction of the coast if I had gotten it from the bridal store. I can't wait to see it! And I will be having a blusher (part of the veil over my face) during the ceremony.
I am doing a veil for the ceremony but then I am going to take it off. It will not go over my face either. I have these flower clips for my hair that have a rhinestone in the center so they will be scattered throughout my updo.

I never envisioned a birdcage veil, but tried one of those on as well and it looked pretty dang good!
We'll see what I end up with!
