    traditionally its the bridal party or the maid of honor but whoever offers to help first then let them- my shower was last weekend and all of my bridesmaids helped out

    There is no rule on this. There is no pecking order in who throws the first shower. Some people don't even have one shower.

    Whoever wants to t hrow the party---throws the party!!!  Usually it's all about dates available and making sure the important people can be there.  There really is no order.
