My fiance and I really like the cupcake idea but the bottom line really comes down to money. From what I see doing some research from local vendors is that cupcakes are way cheaper. $3/slice cheap end for cake and around $1.50/cupcake...Hmm...
So the real question:: Do I assume everyone has one slice of cake and one cupcake? How do I properly order!?
Re: Cupcakes vs Cake
Depending on the size of the cupcakes, I'd say 1-2 cupcakes per person. Have a small cake for you to cut and then just have the catering staff cut the rest and place it out. Guests will most likely go for the upcakes anyways..
[QUOTE]I recommend cupcakes. They're easier and cheaper to deal with. Like PPs said, 1-2 cupcakes per guest should be sufficient. We had individual cupcake boxes for the leftovers that guests could take home.

Did you have someone passing the cupcakes out? My FI and I are going with cupcakes in about 5 different flavors. We want to let people pick their own, but I'm concerned about ordering 1-2 PP, then having a bunch of people want to try a carrot cake, a caramel flavor, a mocha flavor, oh, and I'll just grab this strawberry too... kwim? How do you prevent that?
