alterations

Hi, I am buying a used wedding dress, and I know I will need alterations. Can anyone recommend a Denver area specialist? I don't need someone with a fancy shop, just skill. The dress will need to be taken down almost a whole size. Thanks!

I took my dress to "The Wedding Seamstress" in Arvada.  They specialize in wedding dresses.  I found out, after I bought my dress, that it had been altered once before (the place I bought it neglected to tell me this, they said it was a sample).  Anyway, they are super nice and great at what they do.  It's a little pricey, I'm spending $250, but I'm also pretty much re0doing most of the dress.  They are making straps, adding beading, and the usual alterations.  They will also give you a quote before they pin you so if you do think it costs too much you can go elsewhere.  I found them online and all of their reviews were positive.  I hope this helps you.

Hi I am not sure if you have gotten this figured out yet or not. I bought my dress used and took it to John at United Custom Tailors. It is right near Shane Co. off of Arapahoe and I-25. He took up the hem line, fixed my bustle and worked on a few other small things. I picked up my dress today and it fits me perfectly! He is very kind, skilled and reasonable. He only charged me $55. (303)622-1000 He is great!!! Good luck!
