My Dress - but now I am having doubts...what to do?

On Sunday, I went on my first  trip to try on wedding dresses and fell in love with two of them.  I decided to purchase one of them (definitely more bling than I thought I would ever like  but the lady at the store picked it out  and said it looks great on and she was right, it did)    -  The  PROBLEM  is that I found  the website from where the dress is made and  I personally think the dress is HORRIBLE on the model  -   (well horrible is strong, but I definitely do not like it)  -   I am now afraid that when it comes in  (after 16 weeks) that I will hate it  -  even though I loved it on at the store.....   should I try and cancel it and start all over -  or just hang in there and wait  and remember that I loved it at the store when it was on me....    (oh,  on the model  it fits  tighter at the hips and I don't want it to hug too tightly )  -  my sister has the pictures and has not forwarded them to me yet... so maybe I should wait to see the pictures again  but I am still afraid that the lady at the store didn't pin it right... and heck, I don't even know if I can cancel it.   Has anyone else gone through this?   Any advice would be appreciated!

I don't understand what the dress looks like on the model has to do with what it looks like on you.  If you loved it on you at the store, what difference does it make what it looks like on the model?

    Sorry...just not understanding here....

I am afraid it won't turn out right  at the end of the day - I guess I am just freaking out since I purchased it at the first store I went to and I am wondering if I should have exhausted my options and gone with more of my laid-back style......

    My thoughts as well, Stephie.

How will it not turn out right?  I'm still not getting it.  It's going to look pretty much the same as it did in the store.  Quit freaking out.  And don't look at any more dresses.  It just makes you confused.  And what you're experiencing is normal.  Everyone freaks out after they buy their dress at some point.  "did I buy the right dress?"  If you loved it enough to plunk down some money for it, chances are you made the right choice.

Thank you Mariah,  I guess I was overreacting and  needed some support in my decision -   no more replies needed.

Well, I'll just say we've ALL second guessed our dresses!  It is a big decision and I had some buyer's remorse until I saw mine again.  I'm sure you'll love it, don't worry!

Thank you Stephie,  you are probably right - I just needed to hear it I guess .. thanks again - it's my first real decision -   we are still debating venues right now  so the dress is the first thing I have really made a decision on and it's a little scary.

There's nothing wrong with buying at the first store you go to.  Sometimes, it's just the right place.

I just wanted to add that you will probably feel MUCH better when your sister forwards the picture of you in the dress.  Then you will remember how amazingly wonderful you looked in the dress and you will feel better.  :)

Thank you everyone for the support,  exactly what I needed -  (I wish the Knot would stop playing the video of the girls trying on dresses ...lol)  :)

Been there!  I only went to one store and found two dresses that I loved.  I purchased one and a few days later freaked out that I should've bought the other - because it was more "my" style... simple, less bling, etc.  Once my mom sent me the pics of me actually in the dress -- I knew I had made the right decision.  :)
