The general consensus seems to agree that it's OK to put 1 big ticket item on your registry with the hope that a few with pitch in together to get it, or give gift cards that you can use towards it. Putting a whole bunch of large items looks very greedy. </div><div>

  yeah i told my fiance he's crazy about the bengals tickets. I dont think he realizes that it's rude to ask for what you want. That is why they created wedding registrys. yeah, I didnt think the appliance thing was a good idea either. That was his idea too. He's being the greedy one haha. He's all new to this wedding stuff. Of course I am a girl and understand it haha. I think I do want to register at target, He doesnt.. blah. He knows we are going to bed, bath and beyond. He said we can register for an xbox. I dont know what to do with him... He's being silly lol we can registry for expensive crap, but that doesnt mean guests will by it for us.. they will look at the registry and say we are crazy and but the "appropriate" stuff lol

  I don't think it would be possible to register for football tickets.  You could use money you recieved to go toward them but I would really sit down first and let him know that ALL the money recieved will not go toward this and come up with a percentage.

  I had a terrible experience with Target - our registry was lost multiple times during their transition period, which coincided with the period before the shower and leading up to our wedding.  IMO, their customer service left a lot to be desired during that time. On the other hand, BBB was great!
  
  I'd also not register for major appliances or season football tickets.  I think having one or two more expensive items is okay (we had a wine fridge and a stand mixer because we wanted to apply the post-wedding discount to them) but would go with what PPs have said and rely on word of mouth to tell those who ask that you are registered with a certain store and are also saving up for new appliances.

  Generally, Knotties don't like unconventional registries, but I, personally, think they're okay. My fiance and I are registering with Honeymoon Pixie. While it's primarily meant for your honeymoon (obviously), you could also put things like season tickets up and split the total cost in to X number of $20-$30 gifts. (You could also do that for an appliance or two) It seems like something that your FH's friends might like to pitch in towards! The main thing is just to make sure that you actually use the money as it was intended, which then means that your guests aren't being cheated or decieved in any way (as many Knotties will tell you they are when it comes to a honeymoon registry.).

  That's funny that you mention that. Honeymoon Pixie, like most of the other honeymoon registries, does take a % fee off of your gift. So if your guest gives $100, you only get $93. That seems pretty deceptive to them and cheating you out of your full gift. In case you don't believe me, I copied the paragraph below from their terms of service.<div>

  To me, football tickets are pretty much the same as a honeymoon registry.  Most people can't afford to do that for themselves, and would love to.  I think it's rude.

  I'd side-eye both those options if I saw them on a registry. Registries are supposed to have items to help the couple out in their lives together. Tickets don't fall into that category.

  Please, let the upper limit of your gifts be something like pots and pans (which guests can buy separately) or maybe a vacuum cleaner.  Frankly I think that if it's over $500 it needs to be very carefully considered.  I've seen some gifts that were over $700 be purchased, but that bride had one thing at that price point.  Multiple appliances is going to make the average price of items on your registry skyrocket.  And season tickets are just dumb, in my opinion.  After a season it's over.  One would hope your marriage lasts longer than that.

  My groom and I have registered for a few unconventional thngs, but they're like, two foot & calf massagers because I'm a server and he's a barista. We've also registered for the globe with a bar inside of it (because my FI think it's hilarious) and the Harry Potter DVD Boxed set, but all of these factor into our interests and are relatively inexpensive (under $200).
