Ceremony Locations? Church or Outdoor?

So, I have reserved my date with a Catholic Church, but I haven't signed the contract or sent in my deposit yet.  I still have another week or two to do that.  But now I'm rethinking the whole thing for a few reasons:
1.  The ceremony time is much earlier than I wanted to have it
2.  I just spent all day picking out beautiful songs to walk down the aisle to, only to find out that the church doesn't allow you to choose your music.  I really don't like the idea of having to use the boring, typical Wedding March song
3.  We were both raised Catholic, but we aren't currently practicing Catholics, and  I don't think it will matter to either of our families if we are married in a church or not
4.  I really don't want to have to take 4 weeks of marriage courses (we are both in grad school and work full time, so I don't have the time or money for this right now)

So now I am trying to figure out what other options might be...  I do like the idea of being married in a church.  Maybe Lutheran or Presbyterian churches are more flexible on their rules regarding music, etc?   I also like the idea of an outdoor ceremony in a garden.  Phipps is a bit over our budget (it's 3 times the cost of our church), but maybe some other kind of park or garden?  Does anyone know of good locations in the city to have a ceremony?    Our reception location doesn't have a place for the ceremony.  I hadn't done any research on this area because I just assumed we'd be using that church, now I'm running out of time!  Please help!

I got married in my non-denominational church and had basically no restrictions. I chose my own music, added in some customs, and even did a secular reading in addition to scripture. So it can be done! I know it's not downtown, but Old Stone Church in Monroeville has been recommended on here. I'm pretty sure you'd have a lot of freedom there. There's another one that's been recommended on here, but I forget the name... it's a Methodist church I believe, downtown. Hopefully someone will chime in!

Update:  I looked into the Aviary, but their ceremony time doesn't begin until 5:30 and that's too late for us.  So I also sent emails to the First Baptist Church of Pittsburgh and the Calvary United Methodist Church for more info.  KimWard - Maybe that was the Methodist church you were thinking of?  It's on the northshore.  I remember seeing it before and thinking it was really pretty!  So hopefully one of these two churches will have my date open and will allow non-religious music.  Crossing my fingers!

I'd still love to hear any other suggestions you all have though!!

I think KimWard was thinking of Smithfield United Church of Christ. We go there regulary and we are getting married there, but they allow non-members to get married there with no problem.

Any church you go to will probably require some kind of 'premarital counseling' sessions with the minister/pastor. It's usually not nearly as extensive as catholic counseling though. Just meeting with the minister/pastor a few times.

Well, so far Calvary and First Baptist don't have our date available anymore.  Calvary actually just booked our date two days ago, can you believe the bad luck?!  I just emailed Smithfield United, they're our last hope it seems.  Does anyone else know of any other churches in the area that will marry non-members??  I don't mind the counseling as much... the music and the ceremony time are really the big factors in making me want to find a different church.  So any church that will marry non-members and let us choose our own ceremony songs would be perfect!

First Unitarian in Shadyside.  It's a beautiful church, basically non-denominational, and $500 to rent.
