Honeymoon in the USA?

Has anyone been on a honeymoon in the USA? My future Mr. is an all out country man. I am into hiting up the beach lounging for the day and doing whatever seems fun for the day or night. I was just looking to see if I could get any feedback on honemoons in the USA so I could fill him in that the beach scene isnt that bad.

what time of year? the hamptons here are always great and then theres nantucket/cape cod etc.. but if you're havingh your HM in feb it wont be ideal beach weather

FYI, I would hands down pick Padre Island over Galveston... Galveston can be really nasty.
Gulf Shores are nice, we've been to Destin and other small towns near Mobile.
If it were me, though, I would pick Charleston. It's a very popular domestic honeymoon spot.

I'd add San Diego and LA to the mix. So many beaches to choose from.

And I'll second Charleston. Been there once, and we'll definitely go back.

or Santa Barbara (1hour north of LA)

I third Charleston. It's gorgeous. I also love Seaside, FL. Very quaint, incredible food, private beaches. What is not to love? It's in between Destin and Panama City Beach, neither of which I would recommend for a honeymoon (way too "spring break" if you know what I mean).
