NEED PLACES FOR MY CAKE!

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A GREAT, NOT SO EXPENSIVE BAKERY, OR CAKE SHOP WHERE I COULD LOOK INTO FOR MY WEDDING CAKE.... I NEED A PLACE IN THE NORTH NEW JERSEY AREA.....

    First of all, why are you yelling? Turn the caps off...

    Second, does your venue recommend a bakery that they usually work with? And what's your idea of not so expensive? To some people, that's shoprite (yes, they make wedding cakes) to others, it's Pink Cake Box.

    Sorry for the yelling lol.... I am renting a vicrtorian house for my wedding so the venue doesnt provide bakery information.... Shop Rite no way lol.... That would be to inexpensive....

    Who is your caterer?  Perhaps they could recommend a bakery, or help you find something in your budget.  I honestly don't know cake prices since ours is included in our per person cost.  And don't rule out a supermarket - some of them (like Wegmans) have excellent bakeries on premises.

    Rolf is amazing, it's right over the border from NJ, near the Palisades mall.  Our cake was about $450 for 150 guests, and included a tasting in where you talk about the design, a sample 7x7 cake in which he decorated it in different ways for you to pick from, the wedding cake, and a one year anniversary cake so you can save money and don't have to save the top layer.   He charges by the tier instead of per slice and does not upcharge for fondant or adding flowers.

    So, $300-500 for 170 people would be $1.76-2.94 per slice (not including taxes & delivery service). The knottie vendor list is a great place to start. (LINK) 

    I can't give you a personal recommendation b/c I'm doing cupcakes & they are $3.50+ each. It seems that going with a baker that works out of their home is far less expensive. You will just need to get references & make sure they check out 100%.

    Bovella's in Westfield is doing our cake.  Unfortunately I don't know the cost of their cake because mine is included in the price at my reception facility.  They are traveling down to Pt. Pleasant with out cake, so they definitely will travel to you.
