Reception Dance over Pool

My boyfriend and I have an idea for our reception to have the dance floor over a plexiglass covered pool with Led lights shining from the bottom and I was wondering if anyone knew a great location for this or a company in the area that could do that??

Thanks in Advance!

Re: Reception Dance over Pool

  • It is very safe as long as its done right. I've seen pictures of it and it just looks so elegant and beautiful.
  • I hope you have a big budget for this.  At work, we just looked into covering a pool for a party, and the cost was $7,000 for a small pool.  And that's a rental, not a permanent cover.
  • Boyfriend? Don't worry about this until you're engaged.
  • I agree that if you're not even engaged yet, I would not be thinking in specifics like this.

For when you ARE engaged, I would suggest your local board and agree that this would probably be very very pricey.

  • There is a hotel in downtown Dallas that covers their outdoor pool at night and turns into a 'club' of sorts, so there is definitely a way to do this safely.
I have no idea how much this would cost, however, so when you DO get engaged, I would suggest asking the girls on your local wedding board for ideas.
  • It can DEFINITELY be done; it's done around here a lot.   But I agree that you should probably not worry about this until you're engaged.  It's surprising how many things you think you want in the nebulous "I want this for my theoretical wedding" stage change when you start dealing with the realities of dates/budget/guest lists/family concerns.

In the meantime, I'd check out the Not Engaged Yet board.
