We're getting married June 2, 2013 and ideally would like to be gone from June 3rd to June 9th next year for our Honeymoon. We don't have a ton of money and probably won't have enough to leave the states. We've both been to Hawaii, but just Oahu and not together.

We're having trouble thinking of places, we both want tropic if possible... any suggestions? Price wise is negotiable, just probably not over $3,000.

    You might have a hard time getting to Hawaii with that budget, but you can certainly look at the Dominican Republic, Mexico (Cancun/Riviera Maya) or Jamaica. There are some fantastic all inclusives, some adults only and some not, that would work with $3K. Do a scroll down through the first page or two and you'll see a lot of girls with similar budgets asking the same question. It's totally doable as long as you are not wanting first class airfare, a penthouse suite or two weeks worth of time away. you can definitely get something for around $3K for 6-7 nights max. A lot will depend on the resort you choose.

    IF you're thinking about staying in the country, what about going to Texas?  Corpus Christi is on the coast.  Not really tropical, but definitely nice beaches.  You could drive to other cities such as San Antonio (about 2.5-3 hr drive) from Corpus.

    What about the Florida Keys? That would keep you in the states and get you the tropical feel you're going for.

    I'll throw Cabo into the mix. We stayed at a very classy place and spent 3K for a week including airfare from the east coast. I'm sure you can find cheaper from the west coast. Food, alcohol, and excursions were pretty inexpensive. There were also all inclusives, but we didn't want one of those so that we could eat around town (great food).

    actually the summer is a VERY affordable time to visit the caribbean and mexico. it's probably cheaper than many places in the US.
    i think you might need to do your research a bit more and price places out. if you have trouble contact a friend or family members TA who can help you out.
