Like:
1. Guests are coming
2. Couple is coming
3. Some Ceremony
4. Everybody are eating
4. Couple's first dance
etc.?
PLEASE HELP!!!!

Re: WEDDING PARTY PROGRAM

  • Are you talking about a reception timelime?

    Here was ours (loosely)

2:00-3:00: formals of WP, bride, groom, and families
    3:00-3:30: ceremony
    3:30-4: receiving line
4:30-6 pics for WP and bride/groom and families, cocktails for guests
6:00-WP, parents, and bride/groom intro followed immediately by cake cutting and toasts
    6:20-7:40: dinner and first dance
    7:40-9:00-dancing
    9:00-tosses
    9:00-11:00-dancing
    11:00: reception ends
  • I don't understand what you are asking.  A program is usually for the ceremony, lists the important people and the highlights of the ceremony.

Are you talking about a timeline?  That has nothing to do with the wedding party or the program.
  • i can send you a copy of my timeline for the reception if you e-mail me at blackfire5th at yahoo.com

Repeat this to your self: My Wedding Party is made of my family and friends and I should treat them as such.
  • Thanks! I didn't know it's called timeline (English is not my first language). That's what I need!
  • Our timeline went like:

    12:30-1:00: Girls' pre-ceremony pics, bride formals w/family
    1:00-1:30-Guys' pre-ceremony pics, groom formals w/fam
1:30-2:00-everyone get to church, get where you're supposed to be
    2:00-3:00-ceremony
3:00-5:00-travel time & cocktail hour for guests; WP photos and travel
    5:00-5:15-WP introduction, B&G 1st dance
5:15-6:00 dinner buffet, B&G do table visits
then I lost track of time, but we did
    parent dances
    open dance floor
    Cut cake, toasts, tosses
    Open dance floor
    Sparkler exit

Once you get to the reception, you have a lot of flexibility.  If you are doing photos after the ceremony, you'll want your guests to do some sort of cocktail hour while they are waiting for you.  But you can cut the cake early or late, do the toasts during dinner or dessert or later, you can get everything done in the beginning so you don't have to stop the dance floor or space it all out.
  • We're sort of fitting a lot into one day...

    12:00pm: "Rehearsal" lunch
    2:15: "Rehearsal" with WP
    2:30: Start getting ready
4:30: B&G first look, leave for photo tour with WP
6:30: Return from photo tour, freshen up and get something to eat
    7:30: Ceremony
7:45: Post-ceremony pictures, cocktails served to guests
    8:15: Reception begins
    10:00: Reception ends

We're only doing heavy appetizers and cocktails, not a full meal, and no dancing, so our reception is structured a bit differently than most.  But I know once you get into the reception itself, you don't need a strict timeline as long as you have a DJ, MC, or coordinator making the appropriate announcements and making sure that everyone is where they need to be.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
