Different bridesmaid dresses-Help please

So, my bridesmaid dresses have gotten slightly more complicated than it was originally.

I have 3 bridesmaids. Very different shapes and sizes. 2 living in Ireland, 1 in Australia. I live in Thailand.

Obviously the distance makes it difficult so we looked for dresses online. Basically I told the girls I don't care what they wear, pick something and I'll pay for it. I'm not bothered at all tbh. Anyway, originally they agreed on this dress cgi.ebay.ie/CORAL-BRIDESMAID-PARTY-DRESS-CO08098-PREORDER-SIZE8-22-/330553103172?pt=UK_Women_s_Dresses&var&hash=item7dbc8a1f99#ht_5432wt_905 in oral. When it was delivered, it didn't suit 2 of the bridesmaids, but one of them loved it. she wanted to keep hers so I said fine, work away, he others can find something else.

Now the other 2 are looking. I told them I'm not bothered if it's the same style/colour etc. It's very difficult to match that shade or coral with others online so they decided they'd go with different colours that would look ok together. They're all going with chiffon and knee length.

So, my sister found one she likes on lightinthebox in their daffodil colour.Looks good to me, they're happy it won't clash with the coral so we've ordered that.

The problem now is the other BM doesn't know what colour to go for. We're basically aiming for light/summery and won't clash with the other two. It's a beach wedding if that helps.

So my question is does anyone have ideas of what colour would be nice? My BM is panicking a bit and I want to help her out but I haven't a clue!

Personally, I'm not bothered at all once they're happy and comfortable there with me on the day but the 3 of them are fairly set on it 'looking well' together. All ideas welcome.

Sorry for the long post.

Re: Different bridesmaid dresses-Help please

  • So one has coral, one has yellow?  What about a light champagne?  Or silver?  I'd go with a light neutral color to avoid them all looking like easter eggs =]

  • Thanks :) The yellow is pale.

I posted it on another forum and pink and turqiose were suggested so it's certainly conflicting!

I'm so useless at this stuff!
  • Go to a paint store and look at paint swatches? that might give you a little bit of an idea of the "feel" to the colour scheme with different colours.. ie: would turquoise give an "Easter Egg" feel?.. it will definitely be different in a full dress, but you can at least get a little bit of an idea with paint chips :)

  • I think a neutral would definitely be best -- either a light grey, silver, or champagne :)

  • If one is yellow and the other is a coral (pinkish orange), why not try a real tangerine color?  You would create a summer sunset color scheme which would be really beautiful and your girls won't resemble Easter eggs!  Just a thought! :)  Good luck!
