Any other brides getting married at the Basilica? I was wondering how brides were planning on entering since there is no brides room. I know that there is a small area to the side of the church that you can wait at that is not closed off.  I'm debating just waiting outside until my cue because I don't want to risk my FI seeing me!

    Have you checked with the coordinator at what they suggest? I'm at prince of peace. They gave me the contact info of a coordinator - I emailed her a questio and she never responded. My mom was upset we're not allowed to do unity candles - my priest said he is okay with it and to tell them he wanted to still do it... but she didn't respond so I'm not sure who next to go to.

    I haven't contacted the coordinator yet, that is probably a good idea. Hopefully I'll have better luck at a response. I'm pretty sad that they don't allow unity candles. I'll have to ask my priest as well and see what he says.

    My priest said he's done it in the basilica before... he seems like the throw the caution to the wind type. He was telling us the last time we went in about when he was in Michigan for a wedding some college students invited him to tailgate the next day and he was playing beer pong with them while having religious discussions lol I brought it up to him to ask if we could do a sand ceremony instead... so maybe if your priest says no consider that?? My theme is beach so it made sense to consider it.

    Haha! That is so awesome!! My priest is very cool and laid back as well. That's interesting that your priest said he's done it at the Basilica before. So that means that there is definitely some leeway with that. We're not having a beach themed wedding, but I'm going to consider the sand ceremony instead too.
