Woohoo! Purchased my fiance's wedding band this weekend. We had a great time shopping for them and he picked out one that I had always envisioned him wearing!! :D

Also - we hit up the With this Ring Bridal Gala in Red Deer, AB. It was pretty small (I'm from Vancouver and the tradeshows there are ENORMOUS so I may be a bit biased)... also we found that because we are doing a destination wedding there really wasn't much that applied to us ie. florists, makeup artists etc.

We did make the decision to get legally married where we live. It will save us over $1000, money that we can keep or put towards added extras (hello excursions!). We also are now toying with the idea of using a planning service in our home town vs using the on site wedding planners. Still really leaning towards the Grand Palladium Kantennah in Akumal!

Slowly but surely things are coming together :)

    Great checks!! I also found the wedding shows a little disappointing around here. There were tons of great displays but a lot of things I couldn't use since I'm not getting married here. The last one we went to we tried to have our mindset for the AHR we are still thinking of having but we still mostly ate cake and walked around making fun of some of the vendor. :)

    Awesome check!!

    I enjoyed going to the bridal shows for the free cake and booze, lol! I went to 2 events and one registry event at Macys.  Macys was the best since they had sandwiches, chocoloate covered strawberry's AND dessert!

    Awesome check. Picking out weddings bands are so much fun. I totally agree that the bridal shows aren't that much help for us dw brides unless you need a photographer or travel agent. 

    But they were always fun. I love being able to explore venues that I've always wondered about but never able to go to.
