10 months and 8 days to go!! Yesterday was very exciting as i had my first dress fitting with my tailor. i went a completely different direction than i had originally anticipated after we were able to visit the property in May and experience the weather. FAR too warm and humid (for me, i am from 16% humidity all the time) for the tight fitting, high necked lace get up i was looking at. i ended up buying this dress ($200) from Jen's Pirate Booty:
it is a very basic, cotton dress, not nearly as polished as you would want a wedding dress to be but with about $120 in tailoring, adding a custom underskirt/train, and beading it is going to look AWESOME! i am in contact with the manufacturer and am hoping to purchase a bolt of the macramé used in the lower panel for the underskirt but if that is not possible my tailor assures me that she can find something suitable for a reasonable price. i brought my maid and maiden of honor and they loved all the ideas and we can't wait to see some progress when i go back for another fitting next Friday......stay tuned!!
