No. Honeymoon registries are cash grabs. Again, the word FUND is in the name of one of the most popular Hmoon registries. When you set up a Hmon registry you are just asking for cash, period, because that is all you get.

For so many reasons, skip the honeymoon fund. Just don't register for stuff, and people will get the hint. No one needs to be told cash is a good gift. FWIW, we did register, and 95% of our wedding gifts were cash.

I would send a thank you note, give it a few days to be delivered and then cash the check. IMHO they should get the thank you before the funds are gone from their account. I sent a check as a wedding gift last year and they took over 3 months to cash it. It was really irritating! Cash it!

Have you thought about looking into MyRegistry.com's Cash Gift Fund feature? In lieu of gifts, you could set up funds for that king size bed, a vacation, downpayment, etc and your friends and family can easily contribute to it. We did two. One at Macy's and then one on Blueprintregistry.com. On Blueprint you can add from their collection of things plus off of any site you want. It also lets you put on there group gifts, experiences, honeymoon funds, and cash funds. Its really pretty awesome!
