   post and run, but i changed my middle name to my maiden name - that way i still got to keep it. I wasn't going to hyphenate (cause my maiden is 7 letters, married is 8, and it just seems pretentious) so I figured this was a good compromise.

   I do, too. But publications under my new name have my maiden name as my middle name. So people can figure it out. You can also change your name for personal use, and keep the maiden name professionally.

   Keeping my maiden name professionally wouldn't have worked either. Once I changed the SS card, they had to change it in the payroll system, which talked to many of the other systems.    I did this, as well. I hated my middle, I loved my maiden, but it was a btch for pronunciation and spelling.    I did that, too. Except no one sees it, because all of my companies' have used first.last@companyname as their default email addresses.When I got new business cards, I specifically put down all 3 names, and they took the middle/maiden out and put an initial instead.So yeah, I tried that. It didn't work.

   for the record, if you go to 2 middle names, it screws up all sorts of forms for the rest of forever.And it pisses me off that they always just use the 'first' middle name when, if they can only use one, I want them to use the 2nd.

   Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what I'm doing. I also think I'm keeping my maiden name on FB. That way when future potential employers try to google me, they will not find out about any of my shenanigans.
