   I have been invited to family weddings where I did not get a +1 for my fiance, and while I understand it was to cut costs, it was still pretty insulting. We are planning on extending +1 to anyone in a relationship, and maybe a few VIP single guests (my best friend, out of towners, etc). If someone starts a relationship…

   Hi, need help figuring out who should be invited with a plus one (other than if they are married, engaged or with longtime boyfriend/girlfriend)??? Help!!

   Everyone in a relationship should be invited with their partner. We're giving a +1 to all of our single guests because I think it's rude not to. It was important to me to do so, so we made cuts in other places to make it happen.

   I think I know for the most part which one of my cousins are in relationships and which ones aren't. But I'm not 100% sure. I don't talk to them often and I'm not kept in the loop about who they are dating. I only know two of their SO by name and the other ones I just assume are single. What should I do about this…

   If someone considers himself or herself as part of a couple the day the invites go out, you must invite the s/o. I'd also give a guest to anyone who doesn't know a bunch of people there and anyone who will be traveling alone if they don't get a guest.

   I think if you have the room, and are not sure of the situation, I would just write & Guest on the invitation. We did for most of our guests, except those that spacifically told us they would come alone.

   also remember to leave some space in case one of your single friends starts a relationship before invitations go out.

   Anyone in a relationship needs to be invited with their significant other, not just if they've been together for a long time. The s/o should be invited by name on the invitation. It's nice to extend a plus one to guests who are single and won't know anyone, and anyone who is coming from out of town (traveling alone sucks!)…
