   We never received a gift until our first shower, which was 2 months beforehand, and we were registered well before then. It's an easy thing to check off the list, but it's not a crucial timeline (at least it wasn't for us).

   You can register whenever you like. Also, it doesn't matter that you have lived together 2 years or 30 years. You can still register because there are always things that you need or want to upgrade like sheets and towels, etc.

   1) You can register as soon as you would like. I think most give a 6-9 month mark because items may get discontinued, so it's kind of chance-y to register farther out than that. 2) You should totally register, especially for items you don't have but truly want, like that kitchen aid mixer or that awesome cast iron skillet.…

   You are fine to register for things, even though you live together. Upgrade things or finally get those sets of pans you always wanted, etc.
