I'm in the "bigger downpayment" camp.  Between spending more on our wedding or paying off our house ahead of schedule (we've been paying an additional 78% of our payment directly to principal every month by cutting back in other areas of our budget), we've opted for becoming debt free sooner versus spending more on a party.
