@Swazzle  really? We've never had issues with our cats and milk. Idk if it makes a difference but it's not consistent and only a small amount.

@futuremrshistorian No the recipe I use doesn't have sugar included but I have another recipe for cornbread from Pinterest that uses sugar and it's actually very tasty! I love that one actually.

@lavenderfields13 H usually pan sears our steak, so I'm not of much help. What don't you like about the taste of it in a pan? I feel like a lot of restaurants make it that way.

@futuremrshistorian DYING at your grandmother's recipe! No, I do not put sugar in my cornbread. The recipe my mom gave me (which she got from my grandmother) is:
1 cup yellow corn meal
3/4 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 egg beaten
1 1/2 cup buttermilk
2 Tbs. oil (heated in iron skillet)

Heat oil in iron skillet at 425 degrees.  Mix all other ingredients in bowl, add heated oil to mixture and mix.  Pour into heated skillet and cook for about 20 minutes.

I think I'll be able to post more today. I'm still crazy busy, but I'm working from home today and have no meetings. Yesterday I had a bunch of meetings, which left very little time to do any actual work. I ended up working through lunch and had to bring work home. I worked until 9:45pm. No fun.

Tomorrow I'm taking the day off because my cousin wants to go to Houston to look at dresses at BHLDN. I'm also taking Friday off to hang out with H. We're going to grab lunch at our favorite Indian restaurant, go to the science museum that we've been talking about for the past 4 years, we may catch a drink or a snack at a nearby park that has a couple of fancy restaurants and food trucks, and then we'll go see The Jungle Book. I cannot wait!

This morning Zoey was so hyper that she was actually hopping everywhere. I laughed so hard I cried. Such a goofball. I played with her non-stop while H got ready for work, and then he took her to the dog park for about 15 minutes to let her run. She is now snoring lol.

@southernpeach89 - Holy moly, you guys were productive yesterday.  Also, I'm glad you got to spend some time with your H.  He sure is working a ton lately...hugs.

@pambeesly524 - Ummm, no.  H gets one snooze attempt and that is it.  Any more and I'd tell him to set the alarm to when he ACTUALLY is going to get up.  Sorry it kept waking you.

@cocobellaf - Holy cow!  K has a whole wardrob already!!!  I'm jealous.    I'm going to a consignment sale this weekend and hopefully picking up more clothes.  Ani just has a handful of things (including some awesome onsies now).  Also, you look fabulous!!!! K's room is so freaking cute too!  

@lavenderfields13 - Ugh, waking up thinking it is a day later in the week is the worst.  I'm sorry.

@jenna8984 - Wait...you are training your boss?  For what?  And why?  Also, you look so cute with your bump!

@labro - That would be awesome if your garbage people would pick it up.  Ours are assholes and don't pick up anything that isn't in our one single garbage bin.  Seriously, they will leave bagged garbage near the bin sometimes. 

@eilis1228 - I'm glad you are taking a day off...it sounds like you need it you are working so hard lately.  What is BHLDN?

I'm so excited for today!  H and I decided to do an elective ultrasound of Ani since we didn't have any more and we both really want one.  I also want to see how big she is so I have an idea what I'm up against since I was a 9lb baby and H was 10lbs.  Hopefully she won't be that big.  My doctor ok'd it so we are both doing that tonight after work.  Actually I have a check up with my doctor right before it too so we will get to hear her heartbeat, talk to the doc, get the ultrasound and then I'll send the ultrasound to my doctor so she can take a look too.  So much Ani time!!!

After that we have to pick up a few 12-18 month clothes I saw on a neighborhood forum a lady was selling (mostly a few PJs, two dresses, a sweater and most importantly snow pants for 18 months).  

Other than that, work, work, work today.

@minskat30 BHLDN is Anthropologie's wedding store. They have a lot of reasonably priced dresses in the style my cousin wants. Apparently none of the bridal shops here carry much outside lace or ballgown. The only store in Texas is in Houston, which is about 4 hours from me. LINK I'm so excited that you and your H have so much Ani time tonight!

@eilis1228 I have no idea... H said that apparently he had another friend in our area that he was visiting instead. Which makes more sense because H and I have never met that friend and I wasn't wild about having a stranger sleep in our apartment.

But yeah I'm a person who NEVER hits snooze on my alarm so I was going nuts. I mentioned it to H this morning and he was like "oh, did it go off a lot?" I was like - we DO sleep in the same bed in the same apartment right?!

@eilis1228 Tess used to hop when she was little. Now we laugh at her when she tries too hard to chase a toy and her paws slide all over the place. She looks like a deer on ice for a second before she gets a grip to run and chase the toy.

@eilis1228 - That cornbread recipe is almost identical to my grandmother's...iron skillet included.

Funny-related story.  BF and I once ruined my cast-iron skillet (...we were trying to heat up coals for the hookah and needed to build a fire and I was like, "Oh, let's make a fire in the cast-iron skillet!), so he bought me a new one for Valentine's Day last year.  Because he's the sweetest.  :-)

@beachyone15 - So glad you guys are okay, but that sucks about all the damage.  I will hope that you get an enormous drink tonight.

Since we keep talking bout ThredUp (thanks, @CocoBellaF)...that reminds me that I haven't shared my latest find:List price $475, on ThredUp for $95, plus I got them on with a 20% off coupon and I had a $25 credit for selling things back to them.  I haven't gotten to wear them yet because the weather has been icky but...they're so pretty!

@MissKittyDanger - Yes, luckily insurance will cover any hail damage so we'll get replacement windows and possibly a new roof. The insurance adjuster said to check everything outside as well (including patio furniture and H's grill). So tonight when we get home we'll be doing a thorough inspection. The deductible is all we have to pay ($2,000) but it's better than paying for the actual cost of the damage ourselves.
@eilis1228 - I've been wanting to see the Jungle Book too - looks so good!
@futuremrshistorian - Those shoes are gorgeous! What a steal.

I feel like 3D pictures are all terrible @labro but I'll see if we get any good ones.  If we do, I'll share.    I totally judge myself for getting an elective ultrasound though...I swore I wouldn't do it.  I guess I just want a little reassurance that everything is still a-ok and she isn't a ginormatron in there.  Honestly, labor doesn't scare me (I've seen it from start to finish already) and tearing, while unpleasant, won't be a big deal (if it isn't a 4th degree tear) but I really want to avoid a c-section if I can and my mom and her mom (both of whom I'm built like) all had emergency c-sections in part because of baby's size and in part because of our anatomy.

@minskat30 There's absolutely nothing wrong with having an elective ultrasound and you have absolutely valid reasons for doing so so don't judge yourself! 3D has improved so much and I'm sure you'll get some cute pics along with some weirder ones.

@beachyone15  Oh that's not bad! Is your area prone to hail like that or is it just fluke weather? Honestly ... I've only seen large hail {in summer} once about 5yrs ago. We're not really prone to that

@MissKittyDanger - It was 100% a fluke. We've only ever had mild, like, pea-size hail here and even that is really rare. So having tennis ball size hail falling from the sky and shattering windows was truly frightening!

@speakeasy14 Probably just dress shopping and lunch. She made a 2-hour appointment, so we'll get there around 11, do dress stuff until about 1:30, eat lunch, and get home around 7pm. I have to be at her apartment at 7am. 0_0 SO EARLY.

@futuremrshistorian LOVE the shoes! What a steal! Also, H and I have ruined things while trying to heat up hookah charcoals too... never a cast iron, but definitely other things. Always an adventure when hookah is involved.

@eilis1228 - I'm going April 29 - May 1. So soon! I'm jealous of your date day with your H. MH and I should try to do that sometime this year. Our PTO days are mostly spoken for already, though.

@minskat30 - If I am ever pregnant, I will get every available ultrasound ever. No shame in that!! My valid reason would be 'I want to see my baby'

@PamBeesly524 – Cake and beer sounds like exactly what you need today! My BF’s alarm habits make me want to keep a knife in the bedside table, just so I don’t have to go through all the trouble of walking down the stairs and back up once I finally snap and MURDER HIM.

@speakeasy14 – Oh lord, good luck with dinner tomorrow! I’d like to jokingly say you could have some smart ass comments ready for your BF’s mom, but I know those wouldn’t go over well, haha.

If I'm having healthy-ish cereal, I typically just drink the milk. If I'm having sugary un-healthy cereal, then I pour in more cereal at the end to make that very last bit of milk EXTRA sweet.

Marv pulled the wings off his bee toy last night. Miraculously, the rest has survived so far!

@eilis1228 I hope your cousin finds a dress at BHLDN after everyone travelling 4 hours! I went there when looking for my dress and they had really pretty one that were in different price ranges. 

Re: steak. So typically I only eat steak tips- I'm weird and prefer them to more expensive cuts. Growing up my parents always grilled steak and never made it in a pan so it's different to me and I know it's not the same but the smell of ground beef (like for tacos) frying makes me a little nauseated so that's what I think of when I think of any type of beef in a pan lol. I don't think I know how to properly "sear" it either. I'm going to try broiling and see how it goes!

@minskat30 - We are doing the elective 4D U/S at our next appointment, even though they are dong a regular U/S to check the placenta.  It really helps me mentally and emotionally to have these photos and memories and VIDEO when I'm suffering so much physically.  I look at them all the time to remind myself that there is a tiny little human and the end is in sight.  I hope you get some fabulous shots of Ani!  Our elective includes video and a DVD, does yours?
