I don't get public offices that are not open any evenings or Saturday's.  I need to renew my dog's license, but they are not open other than 9 am to 4 pm.  I work in the city and they are 1/2 hour away at lunch time.  I suggested to the lady when I called I could just mail the payment in and they could mail me the tag, and she indicated that they didn't do that due to postage costs.  REALLY!

This, especially the bolded part!  This is exactly why I don't believe in any religion (I believe in God, just not organized religion)

On that note, I don't get how people who claim to be religious and teach that 'God loves all his children' and 'only God can judge' can try to force their beliefs on people and participate in protests that say otherwise.  The whole thing is just so hypoctritical.

I don't know anything much about him (aside from his slogan) except that he wasn't always popular with my friends and family in Indiana.

    HA!!

Ditto Emily. If start looking at how old most planes are today it's pretty freaky. Some of them have been around a LONG time.
  • Options
Why is it freaky? They're designed to last a long time, and they get a ridiculous amount of maintenance.

H wants to buy a small plane, and it'll probably be about 25-30 years old. They're still safe, as long as they've been maintained properly.

I detest Santorum.  I think he's a terrible human being.  But, in his defense, he hasn't said this.  He believes that contraception is a moral issue that shouldn't be legislated.

Yeah, I know he doesn't have an opposing stance on it. It's just been rumored every now and then. But the fact that it even was brought up at any point is just wrong to me. Then again, I don't think anyone should have the right to tell you what you can and can't do with your pregnancy either, so there's that.

I feel like Romney is probably going to end up being the best candidate for me.

Special, planes are always just way older than I expect them to be. I guess I think of them like cars and there aren't a ton of 30 year old cars left on the road. Also, my H is really weird about flying and looks up every detail of every flight we book so we can be on the biggest and newest plane possible, so his weirdness has probably rubbed off on me.

Also, your H's potential private plane probably isn't being flown thousands of miles a day like a commercial jet.

I read an article last week about how Santorum is vehemently against all forms of all abortion ever, but then discussed his own wife's second trimester abortion she had in order to save her life.

I have no idea how true the article was and TBH, I don't know every last thing about all of Santorum's beliefs.

What I do know, though, is he looks kind of like a caricature or a politician I might find in a comic book.

I get being gay and Catholic. I used and am about to use IVF and I am Catholic.I am aware the Church is vehemently against assisted reproduction in most cases, but here I am. I have been outright told I am not a true Catholic and  to some I am not. I guess for me my desire to have a child outweighs following my religion to a T and I refuse to believe I have to abandon my religion to have a family.
