Airplane are designed to last a long time but ultimately maintenance comes down to the airlines and there are some that are not willing to pay to have their planes properly maintained-

I am fine with flying on whatever plane honestly.

I am friends with some young people and they go to abandoned parking lots to have sex in their car but leave the radio on and then are surprised when their car dies. They called me to jump start it. The first time I went the 2nd time I said no if you are still that dumb then I am not helpnig you.

Fi made me go help them. I was not happy-

I'd rather fly on a reliable, tested plane, even if it's older. Newer does not always mean better.

In the 1970s, the DC-10 was the newest, greatest plane. It also had a number of design flaws. One in particular, the locking mechanism for the cargo bay, caused the door to fly off, which led to a giant hole in the plane, through which people and objects were pulled through. The cabin floor dropped, severing vital control cables and led to crashes.

A commerical jet flying thousands of miles per day will go through much more scrutiny than a single-engine plane belonging to a hobbyist.

So then don't get married!?!  It doesn't matter if you're gay, straight, bi, whatever.  I mean if she's using it as her excuse (to her partner) why she and her partner aren't married, then there are so way bigger issues.

Not wanting to get married -- I get that whether you're gay or straight. But I don't understand thinking that nobody should be able to do something just because you don't want to do it.

I think because it goes against the Bible. I'm not 100% sure though, as I don't know this guy super well, he's my best friend's cousin. I do know that his dad didn't take him coming out of the closet very well, and still isn't okay with it, so there's some speculation in their family that he's that way to show his dad that he can still love God and follow the Bible even though he's gay. I still don't get it though.

Rosie, I need to spend some more time looking at all the candidates. I haven't done it yet since the election is still a decent ways away.

And I get not wanting to get married for whatever reason. I just think it's stupid to oppose the issue for everyone else just because you don't want to do it. But I guess that's basically every social issue out there.

nhahn, I was going to say something similar like "don't say a blanket statement about the entire country if it's just a personal issue for you".  But then that's kind of a blanket statement about how people should and shouldn't vote.

On a few issues, my personal beliefs and how I think the country should address them are very different.

Same here. Before I pay for the room, I ask to see it. We go in each with a separate flashlight and check the bedding, mattress, & under the night stand. Then, we will turn the lights on and watch for creepy crawlers scattering up the walls or on the carpet. Once we find a clean hotel, we always save the room number and information in a notebook for future reference. I've never seen a bed-bug, but I'm 100% sure that I've come across bed-bug evidence at some places.

It really surprised me when I found out that many high end hotels have them. You just would think they would spend the money to keep on top of things, but they are really a b*itch to get rid of.

(I also leave every hotel room cleaner than I've found out due to all the disinfecting I do, too! DH & I have talked about buying a small RV, but it's just not a practical thing right now with our business.)

    EDIT: Paragraphs needed.

I don't get why people feel the need to associate with one party or another, poltically speaking, especially when said party doesn't represent that person's total view. I hate having a 2 party system. I think there should be candidates, not parties. Being independent is fine.

I know plenty of gay Catholics. All but one went to seminary and most are priests or monks now. I really think they hate themselves and that makes me sad. The one who didn't go to seminary is my sister's BFF and he is very conflicted but identifies as Catholic because he is big inot pro-life issues (again with the one issue thing) and its easier than pissing off his family on 2 life issues instead of just one.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
