NWR-visiting in April

My BF, his daughter, his mother, and I will be coming to Vegas in April. We are planning on spending some time at the Grand Canyon, but would be interested in other place to go, things to do. We are all outdoorsy types, and I believe will have around a week or so to spend. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Red Rock...You can do the scenic drive or park the car and hike, bike, etc.

Helicopter tours are surprisingly not as expensive as you might think, well at least compared to anywhere other than Vegas.
