Smart ladies!

Re: Smart ladies!

  • Hi,  I am 50.  I have a bachelor's degree, Master's degree and Educational specialist in school Psychology.  I work as a rehabilitation counselor with persons who have disabilities.  My specific job is vocational evaluator.

My fiancé is 49.  He attended MIT at 16, has a PhD in Astrophysics from MIT and a PHD from Cal Tech in Mathematics.  He previously worked at NASA with the shuttle program and deep space exploration.  Gulf war budget cuts took his job so he went into aviation for a while.  He is starting a new job in electromechanical maintenance two days after the wedding.

  • I'm 26, have a B.A. in Journalism concentration in Public Relations. Graduated 2012 and have been at my job as a Social Media Specialist for two years now. I started as an intern and quickly moved up.  Previously I worked as a Bankruptcy Specialist for a major bank and before that Customer Service for a dental insurance company.

  • I'm 24. I have degrees in Psych and English to show for the beautiful naive years of my undergrad career, lol. After careful consideration, I decided not to go to grad school for Counseling Psych like I had planned, and am now just about halfway through nursing school! I will finish up in August 2014, and I like to think that I'll end up in psych, mother-baby, or hospice nursing (what can I say, I like the specialties that allow more education/communication with patients and their families, more so than the more technical specialties). Ultimately I will take whatever job I can get, though, and I will be damn grateful for it.
  • I'm 25, graduated high school in 2006. Finished my Associates of Science in Biology May, 2012 after many years going back and forth between community college and state university, (money, yo, school is expensive! Also, changed my major many, many times). I plan to go back to school once I get some of my loans paid off to finish out the last year of my major in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies, or change to Elem. Ed. unless (I'm indecisive, can you tell?) I decide to go to pastry school. I've been taking cake decorating classes and work as a restaurant server. It is my dream to open a bakery, teach elementary ed, or save the trees.
  • I'm 23. I graduated high school in 2008, graduated with a B.A. in Communication in December 2011 and I'll be getting my M.A. in communication in spring 2014 (this spring!). I'm still toying with the idea of getting my PhD but once I finish my masters I want a break! My SO is applying to PhD programs in cancer research now so I want to see where that will take us and I'll be happy to teach at the college level for awhile and then decide what I want to do with the rest of my life!

  • @MoniqueAbrahamsen High five on journalism. There aren't many left now!

I'm 21. I graduated from high school in 2009 and college this past May with a BA in Journalism and Political Science. In high school I worked at a restaurant and as a summer camp counselor. In college I worked in a library, as the college newspaper editor and at a local publishing company. Now I work for a small Christian magazine as an editor and writer. I also work as a bridal consultant during the weekends. I eventually want to work for a bridal publication or blog.
  • chibiyui   Thanks! It sucks a lot but I try not to get too down about it. I usually just do when someone (Mom/Grams) brings it up (read:hounds me about it.)
