1. I am really happy that both my parents are on board with texting now. It leads to funnier exchanges. Like yesterday when my Dad sent out a red alert text to us kids to warn that our aunt is dropping into town this weekend. I called her a killjoy and he responded that "As your father, i must chastise you for your disrespectful, but accurate, assessment." He and my brother shame much of the shame wit.

2. I referred to aunt as a killjoy because we are going to Julian this weekend to pick up our wine club wine, and since Mom is off too, we all get to go together. Aunt better not ruin my fun.

3. My baby took 2 unassisted steps at daycare yesterday. 

4. We are getting a santa ana here and I can already feel my skin drying out, yuck.

My randoms, which are all trip related:

1.Getting the kids to SIL was an event on Friday.  The interstate was backed up, so I ended up backing up off an on-ramp (there was another guy doing it too), so I wouldn't be stuck in stopped traffic.  And then DefConn choked on some food and ended up tossing his cookies in the backseat.  I had to stop and clean him and his car seat up. 

2. The ghost tour at Buffalo Trace was fun, but next time I want to do a day tour.  We bought some Bourbon Cream from there.  I can't wait to share it with my family during the holidays.  It's super yummy.

3. Woodford Reserve is in one of the most beautiful areas I've ever seen.  The rolling hills, the horse farms...Seeing it first thing in the morning with the mists rising was like a dream. 

4. I loved Nashville.  The food, the people, just everything.  I definitely can't wait to go back.

5. Dharma and thejuchidea are so nice and sweet and awesome.  We had a good time with them.  I wish we could have hung out longer, but I was so tired.  I went straight back to our condo and got in bed.

Yay for everything but the killjoy aunt and the backseat vomit.

1. We got a new HVAC system yesterday.  It's so quite.  I'm hoping the upgraded filter helps the dust

2. 6let has bronchitis

3. I scrubbed the kitchen appliances and cabinets today

4. I flipped the love seat and oh my word there was a ton of shit under there.  Seriously I wanted to take a picture, but was embarrassed too- jelly beans, toys, a harmonica, a doll, and all sorts of other things.  Lest anyone thing I'm really gross, 6let was eating jelly beans just a week ago.  They haven't been there since Easter.

Boo to bronchitis!   

And I feel ya on the under the couch nastiness.  My nephew came over the day of DefConn's tubes and found all sorts of shit under my couch...While my mom was sitting there looking on.  I felt slightly ashamed.  Ha.

I got home last night to hear DD screaming and crying. Turns out she's been constipated and pushed so hard that she threw up. So her tummy hurt and her butt hurt. Once I got her home and was getting her to calm down she finally pooped. I would have cried if that came out of me too. Poor kid.

We're finally able to unpack the apartment after the bedbug disaster. It's a PITA and I hate it. We should have torched everything.

I have a nice random:

We were leaving preschool and one of the moms made a point to stop and tell me this story.  Her little girl was telling the mom how the boys in the class were mean.  The mom was asking follow up questions who, what, etc.  The little girl was listing names, then stopped and very emphatically said that 6let was never mean to her.  The mom said she was very dramatic and very adamant that 6let was always nice.

Aw, 6let is awesome.

DH got a love note from one of his students (3rd grade I think).  He has suspected that she had a crush, but it was the note with a heart drawn on it and inside written, "Dear Mr. Varuna, you are the best garden teacher ever".

I told DH I was going to have to step up my game.
