Online RSVP?

What are your thoughts regarding online RSVP?

At first I didn't want to do it because I want to have the cards (not sure why), but we found invites we really like, but the matching RSVPs not so much.  So, I'm thinking of doing the online RSVP with our wedding website.  It would also be a money saver.

Is it tacky?  Hard to keep up with?  What do you think?

Im doing online RSVPs through my wedding website. It has worked brilliantly. I get an email everytime someone RSVPs and I can export excel spreadsheets of who has responded.

I chose this method because about 50% of our guest list is international and I didnt want to mail RSVP cards expecting them to pay postage to send them back. I was also worried about things going missing in the post (which happened to a few of our wedding invitations).

All invited guests are computer-savvy too which was considered in our decision. We will still follow up with any guests we dont hear from after the RSVP date to ensure there werent any technical glitches.

ETA: I use weddingwire for my website and online rsvp. They also have an awesome seating chart app.

  • We are as well. I made my website through weebly. They have an RSVP form you can add to site. It allows you to export to excel as well.

  • I think people are going to respond at the same rate, whether you do it online or by mail. I am infamous for not returning RSVP cards--I lose them, or forget--so I went the online route. But I'm a graphic designer and do invitations for friends, and some of them love getting mail and/or have very specific info they need from guests so they're sending RSVPs.
If you want a matching suite but don't want to spend major $$, you can also have them send back a postcard ... then you save on envelopes AND postage, but still get the physical card.
