We are doing it before dinner.  On my month board everyone said they never heard of doing it before dinner.... I thought that was kinda common.

We're planning on before as well because we are having it sliced and served at the conclusion of dinner.  It could be an area thing? I'm used to seeing it before dinner as well once everyone gets in to the reception seats.

I think it is a regional thing... I'm from KY and I have only seen it done before dinner once. And at that wedding everyone wondered why they cut the cake before dinner. Apparently the couple only did it because the caterer wanted to be able to slice the whole thing right away so they could send staff home earlier...

We did ours before so they could take it out of the way and cut it while everyone was eating and serve after dinner.
