Vintage wedding Venue Help!

I live in pittsburgh and i am Planning a Vintage 20's Wedding, hoping for formal, classy and I would perfer a Cocktail/Hordurves only wedding. For october 13th of this year

I had a venue but was Kindly contacted and told they were going bankrupt, and were most likely closing down by June.

I need a venue as close to home as possible (pittsburgh Area being home) very antique-y-ish classy and Not very exspensive i would perfer outside catering allowed and Booze.

Ive been emailing for days and constant road blocks i can spend up to 5000 on venue AND food/Drinks.

Pleasepleasepleaseplease help <3 thank you !

Re: Vintage wedding Venue Help!

  • what was the venue that is closing? I'm curious.

Grand Concourse and Twentieth Century Club come to mind.  There are others but they are out of your price range (and the two I listed might also be out of it, I'm not sure how many guests you have).

Not many venues allow outside catering...
  • This is a bit farther, but the George Washington Hotel in Washington, PA is a beautiful site (very vintagey).  They don't allow outside caterers, though.

  • im okay if they Dont allow them but will they with catering and drinks be under 5000?
  • I dont know if either of the places I names allow just an hors douvres reception.  If so, they would likely come in in your price range.  But again, 5000/100 people isnt a ton, but doable.  5000 for 250 people is another story.  We dont know your guest list size so we can't really speculate.
  • OH! and i have 150 people. sorry!

  • What about j Vernon's studio? They have a decor that you could adapt to anything.

J Vernon's is going to be well outside her price range for venue AND food.  I had looked at it online and could not believe the price it went for.

  • Try the Bigelow Conference and Reception Center. It is right next door to the 20th century club in oakland. It might be pushing it with your budget, but im not sure what your food total will be. They rent out the whole space for around 3k.I believe you can bring in a cateer they approve or one on their list, not positive and you or the cateer provide the alchool.  It is gorgeous! It has marble floors, crystal chandeliers is just amazing inside. Its actually where Im having my wedding and will probably have a vintage theme because of the space.

    Good luck with your search.
  • Edgewood Club would definitely fit the bill. They allow you to bring your own alcohol, you could come up with a menu with one of the three caterers they allow that would definitely be within your price range and it is a historic building.

It has french doors leading out to a patio, wood floors and high wooden beam ceilings.  165 would be the max you would want to invite to the wedding.  We had 140 for a sit down wedding and it wasn't tight, but I wouldn't have wanted too many more people.

Here's a link for their wedding package:

  • thank you all but after looking at the bank i tink regular venues and catering i guess is to exspensive for me i really wished to stay under the 2000 mark for the whole thing and seeing as 5000 is cutting it close ive desided to do 150 people big tent in my grandfathers orchards.  pretty all the classyness under the tent, and Not go into debt.

    thank you all again!
