Caught between two dresses

Hi everyone,

For the longest time I have been imagining my wedding dress as a more fitted, mermaid/trumpet style lace gown.  I have tried several on in stores and none of them have felt quite right, though I do love the look of them.  This is the style of dress that I mean:

However, I have fallen in love with the way the VW351065 dress looks.  I haven't had a chance to try it on and it's not something I imagined wearing but I can't stop looking at it, it's so romantic and beautiful.  I could definitely see myself getting married in it.  The only thing I don't like about it is that there isn't much lace (besides the bodice).  For reference, here's the dress (image also from google):

What I am wondering is - do you think there would be a way to add more lace to this dress? Through a sash/underlay/anything? I love the lace detailing at the bottom of some gowns I have tried on and this doesn't appear to have anything.  Maybe it's impossible to get elements of both of these dresses together, I don't know.

It's great to have ideas, but I would really try to go into shopping with NO expectations. It is very common to end up with someone completely different. I wanted lace, straight down with straps. I ended up with a strapless, satin trumpet gown.

I love that VW. I work at DB and that's my favorite dress in the store. I would honestly say don't try to add something like that to it. It's stunning the way it is and I feel like it may look weird if you added it on. This dress is soooo pretty the way it is! I love it!  But if you find it some place you might be able to ask their seamstress if something can be done to add more lace and see what ideas they come up with. The Lace veil idea is a good one too.

But misssunshine17 is right. When you go out and start trying on the dresses you can find yourself loving something you never even thought of before. When I first went dress shopping I thought I didn't want any crystals on my dress, wanted it to have sleeves or straps, and I didn't like the look of the ones that had a ton of ruffles all over the skirt.  But guess what?... My dress has a glittery crystal belt, is strapless, and the skirt is covered in ruffles. I almost didn't take it to the dressing room because I thought it wasn't my style. But now I am in love with the way it looks on me!
