6-8 Weeks Before Wedding Date or RSVP Date

Hey ladies!  I know that you are supposed to send out invites 6-8 weeks beforehand, but is it 6-8 weeks before the wedding date or the RSVP date?  My wedding is April 4, 2014 and the RSVP date is March 14, 2014 because the venue needs the head count on March 28 so it gives us a week to gather the last minute RSVP cards and call those we haven't heard from; and also because the hotel room block expires on March 14.

It seems to me that in your case about 7 to 8 weeks before the actual wedding date is about 6 to 7 weeks before the RSVP date.

So I'd do about 6 weeks before your RSVP date.
