Weekend!

Re: Weekend!

  • This weekend is going to be super busy for me. Today was fun though. I was supposed to go shopping with one of my good friends, but one of the kids she nannies was sick and it just turned into a whole ordeal. It was totally not her fault, but in the end we didn't really get to go shopping.

    Then, the exciting part. BF picked me up from doing stuff with my friend and we went shiny (engagement ring) shopping. There is a really nice "discount" diamond place (not as expensive as other jewelry stores, but still very high quality) super close to where we live that is supposed to be really great, so we went in there just to look around. They do sell more than just rings and I think BF wanted to look for a Christmas present too, but we essentially drifted toward the rings as soon as we got there. BF warned me that the ring is at least a year away and this was really just for him to start thinking about what I liked and what he liked on me. Let me just say, once I get my ring, I'm going to be super distracted all the time. They are so shiny! And I found a ring I totally love, but it's kind of expensive and who knows. It will be a while before I get one anyway, so I won't stress about it. It's just exciting to think about. BF did say he was pleasantly surprised by the prices of the rings and he was expecting them to be more expensive. And the store was really great. They were awesome about educating us about diamonds and were willing to genuinely work with any budget which was nice.

    Tomorrow/Today (I'm writing this in the wee hours of the morning when I should be sleeping. Oh well.) is my college's homecoming. Because I'm in the color guard, it means a full day for me all dressed up and in makeup. At least it's supposed to be warm and not raining like it was today.

    Sunday I'm going to be buried alive in homework. Or procrastinating all the homework I have to do. I am supposed to go home for this thing called Thanksgathering, which is an event my family's church does. Groups of families/people from the church get together and host a pot-luck style Thanksgiving meal. My family hosts the college age one, so it's more of my parents cooking and feeding a bunch of college students because they can't feed/cook for themselves. But I most likely won't get to go as I have to do a book report (which I still haven't even read the book) and study for a test I have Monday that I found out about today/Friday because our teacher forgot about it. Woo.

    So all in all it will be a very busy weekend, and I'll be happy on Monday when classes are over and I can take a nice nap. I think the highlight of my weekend will be the shiny shopping though.

  • My weekend is sadly thurs/fri now so I will be working. I helped out at a half marathon today which was awesome! I love cheering people on cause there is nooooo way I could do that.
    BF submitted an order for my ring yesterday and he hopefully will have the design approved and created within the next 3 weeks. Excuse me while I go do a happy dance.
    I also got an early day today so I will be relaxing for the afternoon!

    @TwoDimes. Where in Chicago?
    Sorry, I missed this @Suzie211.  We went to Union Pier.  We even stopped at a little winery there.  It was a cute town and OMG they had this one breakfast place with carrot waffles (gluten free).  They were amazing.
  • @minskat30 Those sound amazing! I'm not familiar with there. Maybe I'll convince H that we need to go check it out. I need another excuse to get back there.
