Small Reception?

Hi everyone,

I have been looking at possible reception sites in the northern nj area. However, I haven't been able to find anything by looking online (it's possible that I might be a terrible online searcher lol). I love how the Indian trail club looks but I am pretty sure that have a minimum person guarantee. My fiance and I don't have a ton of friends and I have a little family, so I think we would be looking at around 50 people, give or take. So, I was wondering if any of you might have any suggestions for a nice, but affordable wedding venue in the northern nj area. And I think a huge venue would be just too big for such a small guest count. Hope that all makes sense and I appreciate any help that anyone could offer. I hope to get married in a church in Elm wood Park, so ideally the reception site wouldn't be too far from there. Maybe a 30 minute or so drive would be an OK amount of distance. (I'm a crazy mess of ideas)

Hi and congrats on your engagement! My sister just got married a few weeks ago. Our family is small and they didn't have a lot of guests (35). If you expand your search, the Molly Pitcher in Red Bank has a great room called the Navesink Room. It's like a mini ballroom complete with a dance floor and bar, and looks out on the river and marina. She only had 4 tables and it felt just like a bigger wedding. Closer to you I'm not sure; my venue (Palace at Somerset Park) had a room for smaller weddings but I don't remember the minimum. You could try calling restaurants too to see if they have a private room. Good luck!
