Tea length wedding gown + long bridesmaid dresses

Our ceremony/reception is at a country club, ceremony will likely be at 4:30, with reception immediately following. If I'm in a tea length gown (that's more formal than casual) and the bridesmaids are in floor length dresses, is this ok? Or should they be tea length as well? Will it look wonky in pictures? Discuss.

I think it will look fine. I don't have an issue with it. Here's a picture that might help. It's opposite of what you are thinking but use some imagination and switch it lol. I think it is fine.

Don't put them in tea length. Flattering tea length bridesmaid dresses are hard to find (I think those poor ladies look like their legs are totally cut off and stubby looking). Tea length bridal gowns tend to have more volume and umph, so they look much better than a simple satin or chiffon dress. 

I think long bridesmaid dresses will look fine with a tea length bridal gown. Or why not cocktail length?

I'd like the BMs in floor length (for the reason @PDKH mentioned above), but my mom says the long BM dresses would make them look more formal than me, "which is a big no-no"... I thought it was silly, but she's a manager of the bridal store and has worked with brides for 10+ years so.... meh..

Oh goodness. Even the bridal experts can be wrong though. 

Remind her that no one really outshines or outformalizes the woman in the white dress at a wedding. It's not like you're wearing a white sundresses and sandals here!

If we're talking a floor-length dress with a basic design, you're fine. Would she relax more with a formal cocktail dress? What does your ladies' budget range look like?

You make some good points! Honestly, I think I might talk it over with the BMs and see what they'd feel comfortable in (my guess is long, given our conversations so far)...after all, they're the ones who will have to wear the dresses, you know? I just wanted to make sure it wasn't this huge faux pas that my mom was making it out to be

Personally, I think it does look silly for BMs to be in floor length and the bride to be in tea length. But, I don't think it's going to ruin your photos or anything. it's just a personal preference.    I do think knee/cocktail length for your BMs would look better.

I agree with QF. My personal preference would be for the BM dresses to be the same length or shorter than the bride's dress.

But, it is up to you.  If you really want long bridesmaids , tell your mom that you have decided so and that is that.

Moot point now lol... I tried on dresses today with my mom and the tea length look does NOT work on me lol...I felt like Suzy Snowflake Thanks for the feedback though ladies!
