    Frankly, if someone wants me to wear jewelry, it HAS to be real or I'll break out in hives. . .

    Seriously, the whole reason your BMs are getting any gift at all is because of their participation in the wedding. So insisting they can't have anything "related" to the event or that involves memories of your event is ludicrous.

    ETA: I agree with posters who say comping their room or gas is more meaningful than designer shoes. But as a bride, I don't consider that to be a personal gift. I'd still want to get them something.

    Would I want Louboutins or pearls?  Probably not.  I would feel absolutely terrible if someone gave me that expensive of a gift.  Also, I really don't like the red soles.

    However, if the gift is something I will like and use again, I really don't care if it's wedding related.
