Accessory stores?

Hello,

Where can I go to find some vintage-inspired/feel jewelry and hair clips around the area at a reasonable price?

Re: Accessory stores?

  • I made a brooch bouquet and used some hairclips and earrings and other stuff that I found at antique stores, garage sales and flea markets. If you find something you like that isn't for the hair you could always add a hair clip to it to make it work.

  • Yep, this is true.  I'm actually in the process of making my own brooch bouquet for myself and my girls.  What did you use for the "base" of the bouquet?  I'm having issues with the spacing and the brooches staying in place.  And do you have any pictures of your end result?

I actually made all of the brooches into 'flowers' with the wire and the tape and I got so frustrated I brought it to a florist and she added real flowers and put everything together. It was beautiful. I will see if I can find some pictures.

  • The base from what I can see is mostly the real flower stems holding everything in place, then wrapped with the ribbon. Otherwise I have heard of using the cardboard roll from a roll of paper towels to hold everything together.

  • Lace in Troy has awesome stuff!!!
  • Haberman Fabrics in Royal Oak has embellished lace and sequined trim as well as some buttons and brooch type items.
  • I found some vintage-inspired stuff on Etsy and www.chloeandisabel.com/boutique/withoutwords
