Markers on canvas??

I didn't see a post about this anywhere but I'm just wondering what the best kind of marker or pen would be to use on a blank white canvas. We will be using one as our guest book and I have heard sharpies aren't the best idea. Thank you!

    Actually, sharpies work very well on canvas, you can get fine tipped ones as well..I use sharpies to sign my paintings, they don't smudge.
