reception venue help!!!

We're having a difficult time finding a reception venue within our price range. We fell in love with several venues, such as the Syria Mosque, but they exceed our budget. We have a guest count of 250, and that's after making cuts (we have big Italian families!) We would love to have our reception at a vineyard but our guest count is too high for that. With ten months til our wedding and no reception venue booked yet... I'm stressed! I would greatly appreciate any input/advise/suggestions on halls or unique places in the area that are budget-friendly..specifically around Oakmont/Lower Burrell/Monroeville.Butler and surrounding areas. Thanks!!

The Atrium in Prospect (Butler area) is very nice:

And there is Betsy's Barn - also in the Portersville/Butler area:

    Riverside Landing
Hampton Banquet Hall (located on Rt 8 in Allison Park/Gibsonia, might be too far)

Kim had hers at a firehall in the Monroeville area, it was very nice! Hopefully she'll chime in!

Yep, I had my reception at Gateway Hall in Monroeville. I can't remember what the maximum is- it's either 200 or 250 I think. I was pleased with everything overall, though Pat (the coordinator) slightly irritated me.

You may want to look at Garden City Hall as well, also in Monroeville. You would definitely have plenty of space there- according to their website, the hall holds up to 475. I looked there, but didn't want to worry about meeting minimums. You wouldn't have a problem with that though.

ETA: There was no hall rental fee for Gateway Hall. I had a buffet and used china- I think it ended up being around $30 pp. My godmother made the cake, and we provided the alcohol, though they provide bartenders, as well as mixers and garnishes. HTH, and let me know if you have any questions!

What about Riverside Landing or the Greek Hall in Oakmont? My sister got married at Riverside Landing, such a pretty space and very reasonably priced. Also a friend of mine mentioned the Schoolhouse in Apollo. I don't know anything about it, excpet it exists.

Punkness on here got married at the VFW in Lower Burrell and a few friends of mine got hitched at the Magnolia Room in Creighton. Also, try the Harmar House in Harmarville and Springdale Vets in obv. Springdale.

    HTH! GL!

Are you from Lower Burrell area? I graduated from Burrell.

The only item I will not compromise on...my bouquet of all purple tulips wrapped in a swatch from my Mom's wedding dress.

    Everyone had good ideas above...

What exactly is the budget? That might better help us make suggestions. Everyone has a different idea of what 'too much' is.

Succop Conservancy in Butler. I think it's very reasonably priced and is all inclusive pricing, to include chair rental, venue rental (for ceremony and reception), linens, services, taxes and gratuity. You would need to make an appointment soon, because they seem to fill up quickly, but I really feel that I found the bargain of the century. And they let us do a tasting of the food and it was really good! I highly recommend it!

Depending on your budget, Armstrong Farms in Saxonburg. I think one of the barns can hold that many people

Mine is going to be at the Magnolia Room in Creighton. Not sure what the max. number is, but it's very pretty inside. The price is, in our opinion, very good. I am very excited about it!
